Leatherman surge
Lost my Surge and spent $100.00 immediately to get a replacement. Had other brands but there is nothing like a Leathermen. It's a bit heavy but has all I need to do many jobs. I used a Super tool for 15 years and lost it off a trailer hitch. Moved up to the Surge and couldn't be happier.

Too much of a good thing?
Hey, I used to have a Leatherman Wave. I have used it for at least 4-5 years and I thought it was a great product. But of course, as a male, we are always looking for bigger and better, so I bought the surge. It is made well and sturdier than the wave. But the price is paid in weight. I have a pager, key ring and cell phone on my belt. It is just probably too much weight for the increase in strength. My ego won't let me go back to the wave but if I really am honest with myself, I got more utility per ounce with the wave than the surge. I suppose if I was more than an office worker, I would love the heavy duty feel of the surge but I really do not do much that I could not have done with the wave. The surge is well made and up to the usual standards of Leatherman. Maybe I will eventually grow up and go back to the wave!!??

Best leatherman I've owned so far!
This is by far the most durable leatherman I've owned, I've tore up several other models. This is a real tool not just for light jobs. I just wish it had a place to incert the eyeglass bit. Maybe a bit with a hex hole to incert it into. Only complaint.

Surge 830161
This particular model of the leatherman surge does not have the changeable wire cutter jaws as my previous model did which I discovered after it arrived. That feature is on a different model. I like the larger surge and use it every day at home and work.

Solid Performer
Leatherman wave was my favorite now it is the wave. It goes in the front pouch of my Busse knife sheath. I have a multitool with every woodcraft and combat knife I own. The Surge is one of the best I have. I have one in every vehicle as well. Great product.

massiv tool!
Massiv tool, not lightweight! But solid! I'm using it every day since I guess 7 years. Still it works fine.
