Actual Fender replacement parts are best for Vintage restorations and repairs
If you have a vintage tremolo that's "gold", but it's become tarnished with age, or need a replacement that you know will fit your vintage Fender... the best thing to do is to order directly from Fender and if it's within your budget, get a licensed Fender Technician to do the install. If that's not in your budget (and it's not often in mine for such a minor job and one solder!). Than ordering a numbered Fender part and installing it yourself (warning, you might be voiding your warranty if your instrument is still covered) is easy. Maybe you picked up a 'case queen' that just needs it's hardware replaced, and you want to see if gold coloring works with the way the paint has faded? Whatever your reason, using actual legitimate Fender vintage parts might be a touch more expensive, but not much, and the quality difference is pretty huge. (Although I will admit the Corona Plant seems to get a lot of some American series hardware from Mexico.) One thing to beware of... if you have a vintage instrument that's made in Japan parts for vintage Fenders might not fit reissues (which often use metric system), so double check. Otherwise it's a great part, and with other Fender Hardware, can really make an otherwise blah looking guitar shine again.
