It blocks data. Not sure about charging performance.
I primarily purchased this to block the USB data lines so I can plug my phone into public USB ports without worrying about having my information stolen. I can also now plug my phone into my computer at work (to charge) where I'm not allowed to plug in my phone due to data loss prevention policies. This little device works great and prevents the device from registering on the computer. The device is small, simple, and seems to be built durably. I think it is on the expensive side, but the peace of mind knowing that the data connections are physically disconnected is nice when using a USB port in an unknown location like a public USB charger at an airport or something. I can't speak to the effectiveness of the claimed charging speed enhancement... I assume my charger and cable are already the correct type for my phone and I haven't noticed a difference between using this compared to not using it. I also haven't really put in the time to do an actual test since that wasn't my issue in the first place. It's a theoretically simple device for data blocking (I don't know what it does in terms of helping the charging speed; maybe it is fairly complex) - USB 2 has two power and two data lines, and this device simply disconnects the data lines while allowing the power to pass through. This way there is physically no possible way for malicious data to enter your phone via the USB port. I recommend this device because it accomplishes this purpose and seems to be built pretty solid.Achat vérifié : OuiÉtat : Neuf

Great problem solver glad this thing exists.
