The BEST colored pencils on the market hands down. Worth EVERY PENNY
Ebay price is about half retail but given my experience now with their use, I would pay FULL RETAIL if I had to. These are awesome and absolutely make you a better artist. They blend so beautifully with each other you never have to use blending pencils or liquid. Colors are vibrant and beautiful. I cannot recommend these highly enough. I read nothing but great recommendations about these before I bought and figured, YEAH SURE, nothing is that good. There has to be at least some downsides to these. THERE ISNT !!! Leads rarely break unless you have them to a super sharp LONG point. The LIFE is OUTSTANDING. I would say they last 3-5 times longer than that other leading brand that is about half the price. Oil based Faber-Castell Polychromos rock--roll--and rule
Needed oil based color pencils that wouldn't smear when combined with washes from my watercolor color pencils. These are perfect. They also give a beautiful "foggy" blend when using a coarse bristle stencil brush for a misty atmosphere or distant landscape areas. Wow!Achat vérifié : OuiÉtat : Neuf

Used 120 Faber Castell Polychromos Colored Pencils
I wish I didn't have to buy the 6 missing Faber Castell Polychromos Colored Pencils that were missing in this used 120 set of Faber Castell Polychromos Colored Pencils. I also wish it didn't come with two duplicates of two different colors of the Polychromos as well. Excellent Opaque Pencils
The coverage from this pencil is very nice. it's easy to layer, and they say pigment lasts. I'm enjoying my set VERY much...it's definitely several steps above those crayons prismacolors. If you can afford the 120 set is nice...not much color repeats.Achat vérifié : OuiÉtat : Neuf

Polychromos colored pencils
Leads lay down creamy and blend well especially with solvent, but also with blender pencil. Colors match the Faber Castell water color pencils as well so the two can be used together to obtain multiple layers without using up the papers tooth.Achat vérifié : OuiÉtat : Neuf

The ULTIMATE BEST COLORED PENCIL SET
Everyone asks which is best. Polychromos or prismacolor..its like asking which is best a Ford or a Rolls Royce..both are cars..get you where you wish to go..But..how do you wish to travel. Economy or luxury..simple. everyone says you get 30 more pencils in large prisma set of 150. Than poly set of 120. That's only because there are 30 colors that are so close in color u cant tell much difference and you will break lead and wood so often with prisms you NEED 30 MORE! PLUS PRISMA ARE WAX POLY ARE OIL BASED ALL PENCIL HAVE SOME WAX ..THE MUST TO STAY TOGETHER .BUT WHEN ALL QAX. AND VERY SOFT. EXPECT PROBLEMS THEY HAVE..YOU CAN USE THEM TOGETHER IF YOU LIKE AND COLOR BIGGER AREA WITH SOFT ORISMAS. RESEVE POLYS FOR SMALL DETAIL WORK. SINCE THEY ARE MORE EXPENSIVE..BUT JUST REMEMBER. Simply Sublime Colored Pencils!
Faber Castell Polychromos are high end, artist quality, lightfast, colored pencils. I have tried many different brands & Polychromos are my absolute favorite! They are creamy smooth, richly pigmented & blend effortlessly. Since they are oil based they don’t wax bloom. They are made with high quality wood. The leads are centered, thick, hold nice point & sharpen easily without breakage. And the leads don't crumble when sharpened to a very long point. I have the 120 set. Exceptional pencils, quality build, good range of colors, beautiful results.
This set of pencils is superior to other sets. Intended for the serious artist or avid colorist, the pencils are exceptionally well made. These are oil based so you do not get wax bloom which is often the case with wax based pencils such as the Prismacolor Premier pencils. The color goes down very creamy, blends well and is simply a pleasure to use. The pencils are perhaps better compared to the Caran 'Ache brand in terms of quality product. While expensive, you can clearly see the differences between the higher cost Faber pencils and others which cost less. There is a nice variety of colors. The color range is excellent and if the color you desire is not here you can easily blend pencils to obtain the desired shade. The pencils sharpen well to a good point and do not break easily.
