C.S Lewis was an intellectual master at his studies and this him at his fullest and most mature.
This is my personal favorite book of C.S Lewis's and for good reason. I had a long, long
(Altough it was a relativly short period.) complex history with Mr. Lewis's book and
while I often had a rough time with him, this book was beautifully well done. I understand
this was written late, late into his life and it shows in its writing. This is a man who's been
through it all. Loss, struggle, heartbreak and while he lended himself to outdated
views a bit too much his kindness and understanding here made me open up to him.
I am much relieved that while there were some good things to come of the medieval
period I'm most, most relieved Lewis in the end desired nought for the return of
said model, and I loved him for that. That small moment about 'Flighty Daemon's'
was most curious. That leads me to believe Mr.Lewis was starting to see spiritual
paths outside his traditionalist Christianity he held as end-all fact! Very interesting
considering his past relationship with William Butler Yeats. Lovingly done Mr. Lewis!
