A great classical SLR for a backpacker
You can do better for a camera...you can do worse. Important to me was the built in pop-up flash and photo taking RAW image files. Weight---I'm a backpacker so this being Canons lightest weight EOS was critically important. I happily worked my SL-1 to death (counter rolled over 3 times.) Great for learning beginners!

Canon EOS SL3
Bought it for travel and everday use. I wanted something that I could use when I travel and when I just go to reastaurants or parties. I could put on a 17-55mm f2.8 when I go on travel tours. I can put on a 24mm f2.8 for restaurants, get togethers, parties. Im happy with the camera.
