Product Information

Enjoy beautiful photographs, preserved for years in their digital format produced by the Canon EOS 5D Mark III DSLR camera. As a camera body only, options in lenses match what the imagination creates. Because memory cards are compatible with the Mark III, the camera body includes two memory card slots, and SDHC memory cards are so compact, photographers can travel with multiple cards to continuously expand storage for an almost unlimited number of photo opportunities. With the capability to photograph at six frames per second, the DIGIC 5+ image processor paired with the CMOS image sensor result in high-resolution images for viewing at 22.3-megapixels. Built-in Wi-Fi and high-definition video capability propels the functions of this camera beyond taking still images.

  • Desirable upgrade from the 5D

Had used the 5D for many years. Recently bought the Mark III. They are both full-frame professional cameras. The upgrades on the Mark III are desirable. First, the ISO goes from auto to 100 to 25,600. Noise at levels I've explored is not detectable. I needed this feature for darker venues with and without speedlights. There is an automatic cleaning sensor. There is a lock to change from AV to TV, etc. so mistakes are averted. Of course, there are more pixels and video. The display is larger. It is easy to adapt to the new camera. There is new software which can be downloaded from the internet, I have the disc. Style settings as in the 5D are available, however the default settings for the styles are impressive. I'm exploring the manual and eager to learn the new bells and whistles. Be careful when you buy this camera - you might fall in love.

  • Good quality camera for the money!

These Canon 5D series of cameras have been the workhorses for professional image making for quite a few years and they still create very good quality images. I have the Mark II and Mark III. The Mark III image quality is not much different than the Mark II but the Mark III has a number of improvements for better handling and better focusing etc. The only down side to these cameras is their size and weight. My other cameras are Micro 4/3s.

  • Great Camera

After working with the Canon 5D classic and the Mark II for years, this camera, the5D Mark III is a step up for me. The fact that is a few years old was a moot point for me. The price I paid for it was a great deal. It is soo clean, not one speck of dust visible in the viewfinder. And because it has so many features that allow me to do so many things, I'm giving it a five star rating. With only 6,303 shutter clicks, it was hardly broken in. Another star by itself. Yes I'm loving it along with my new 70-200mm 2.8 IS II L lens. Already shot some awesome photos as pictured here.

  • Love my full frame camera!

I call myself a "Hobbyist" Photographer. I shoot a lot of pet portraits, dogs for rescue groups, landscapes and weddings. I finally took the plunge and upgrades to my first full frame camera. Having come from a Canon 7D II, I am very used to the menus and settings so there was a very small learning curve. If you are getting a camera to have the camera do all of the work, I would say look at a simpler camera - this one is not for you. If you have moved beyond and want to take control - this camera is awesome and does very well in low light. One small disadvantage for the average photographer is there is no on-board flash. I have a collection of canon flashes and can easily overcome this but you will need a flash or some lighting if you get this camera. When I took my first shots, I could immediately tell there was a major difference, even from my Canon 7D II. Solid, quick (very important when you are shooting rescue dogs who rarely sit still) and felt wonderful. First time I have been excited about a camera product in a long time. Wish I could upload a pic to show, but trust me, if you have moved beyond the realm of photo's for fun and are ready to get serious, this is the perfect instrument!

  • What I saw is what I got, a great camera

The camera body is as shown, and in great condition. It came with a battery grip which is shown but I actually forgot about it, so when I opened the box it was a great surprise. It will be very useful for weddings and long days. I was using a 6D before this and this is 100g heavier (without the battery grip) and it doesn’t sound like much but it’s kinda noticeable. It wouldn’t be worth mentioning if I was using a light lens like a 50mm but I use a very heavy Tokina 24-70 lens, it’s heavier than the camera, so now my setup is 4 pounds total The upgrade of focus points is excellent. I use some custom functions that I love, and I think it even came set up with back-button focus which I’m excited to try. Overall this is an excellent product for the price that I’m excited to use for the next 2-3 years. I just did my first shoot with it the other day, I will attach photos from it. The first 4 photos I had a plastic bag over my lens and it did a decent job focusing through the bag. The last photo was taken with a canon 85mm 1.8 at f4 with an ISO of 800. It’s super sharp and there’s virtually no noise whatsoever. I’m excited to push the ISO of this camera.

  • Great Image and Build Quality

This camera is AWESOME for the price in 2020. I absolutely love it. Easy to use, and very Professional. If you are serious about photography, then the Canon 5d Mark iii is the camera that you need. It truly stands up to any current photo camera in 2020. Focus is superb. It's not the best camera for video in 2020 because it don't have 4k or focus follow, but for the photography side, it's "The Greatest". I would recomend it to anyone.

  • EOS 5D Mark II

Camera is very complex - good thing for many YouTube videos. Produces excellent image quality (RAW) with Canon 28-135 zoom lens. Good feel and grip design. Camera strap has non-slip surface that helps keep it from sliding around. Many features that take getting used to. Auto-focus is fantastic but complex to set for given conditions - takes practice. Silent shutter is good when you don't want the loud "clack" of the shutter to intrude. Custom function menu only allows selection of only 5 settings. Would like it if it could page-down to allow for more custom selections. Programmable buttons allow for back-button focus. Really need to get high-speed CF card for long burst shots - slow card will only allow about 12-13 shots (RAW) high speed will take 20 - 25 before buffering. Would like to have ability to save RAW to one card and JPG to the other but it does not allow that. It is however really great to have 2 cards and set it to go automatically to the other card when your primary is full - you just end up with a ton of shots to have to review to get the few you actually want. Haven't tried video but most reviews say if you want to do video, get a video camera. Really good review of this camera and comparison to Mark II on Tony Northrup's photography site: northrup photo Be sure to get an extra battery and have it with you. When shooting burst shots you can drain the battery fast.

  • It was a great buy!

Had to adjust to the new camera settings, but once I got used to it, it has proven that this camera is renowned among the photographers. To really notice the crispness of the images, you gotta have good lighting, although it would perform well under low lighting conditions due to its amazing ISO setting range. Love the camera.

  • AMAZING PRODUCT!

This product is wonderful, exactly what was in the description. Everything was packaged with care and everything that was pictured was included. New body so it took me a bit to get used to the different controls but it was easy to adapt to and I love it. The image quality has so much depth and is really remarkable.

  • Canon 5d Mark III in 2022

If you’re looking to buy a camera that will take excellent stills: this is the one! I love this camera. There are a lot of features on it (some of which I am still learning). I plan to keep this camera for a long time. However, if you are planning to record video this is probably not the right one for you. It does not have dual pixel auto focus on video or an articulating touchscreen.
