THE BEST OF THE BEST
This lens is amazing. Bokeh is very nice and dreamy, subjects are tack sharp. Super fast focusing even in manual mode. The only drawback is the weight. This lens is a beast. I left the tripod mount on to help keep it steady in my hands. The B+W filters are simply the best there is and they're all that I'll put in front of my lenses. The Expodisc has been fun to play with and really does help white balance. The filter removal tools were a plus and work great when removing or adding filters. This is a lens I have waited on for two years and I am not disappointed. It is simply the best that Canon has to offer. Believe the hype!

Fantastic lens, but bulky
Everyone knows this lens - it's one of the ones Canon users drool over and say "someday." I found one in great shape, for a great price, and got lucky. It's not for everything though. It's not a "walking around" lens. It's way too heavy for that. I often bring it along in a backpack, and that's not too bad. Carrying it around on the camera gets tiring very quickly though. Functionally, it's great. Sharp, fast, tough. It's even been good at things I didn't expect - like getting close ups of small things. It's not a macro lens, of course, but it does a nice job. It excels at action sequences like sports and wildlife, and it's good in low light. I've shot concerts with excellent results. Since it's 200mm max, you still have to be fairly close to wildlife to get a great shot, so it may not be great for birders, who usually require more zoom. It's pricey, but probably one that you keep forever because it's so good.

Great deal!
Lens works great, just took some pics with it over the weekend and works very well. The part of the lens between the hood mount and focusing ring is a little loose but a trip to the repair shop can fix that. The wear and tear is definitely on a bit on the grungy side but if you're buying a lens for cosmetic look, I wouldn't recommend it. Otherwise if you are using the lens to take photos with, which you should, then it's a great deal and a great lens!

Great Lens
This lens is such a game changer for weddings! I now can hang back during receptions and not move around a ton to get closer and wider shots. It really helps to not take away from the couple when I'm not moving all around the aisle! It's so sharp too. The 2.8 is so worth the extra money, along with having the IS! Very happy with this lens! I use this on my Canon EOS R with the canon adapter.

Great lens
Great lens but it takes practice in using it with moving objects with ambient light especially at dusk into the evening or indoors. The f/2.8 aperture allows you to go without a flash but you can be fooled if the object is moving.(shooting an entertainer performing for example). It will seem focused in camera but when viewed on computer it could be out of focus. .

A Wonderful Piece of Glass
The shots I've taken, even wide open, are crystal clear. The only issue is in very low light the autofocus can sometimes be skippy. The newer model lenses supposedly has a better AF technology. But I just switch to manual focus and still get good results.

Great lens!
Awesome pictures, but is very heavy. Clarity is fantastic, auto focus is sharp, manual focus is very easy and the stabilization balances out its weight.

Excellent purchase.
I was initially hesitant to purchase via an international sale. The lens is like it is brand new. The images are tack sharp. The motor is virtually silent. The cosmetic appearance is as new.

Having some issues...
The lens is sharp, but it has an intermittent issue. Three times the lens has given me an error message that frizzed my camera. I have to turn off the camera and remove the lens and battery for the camera to work again. It doesn't do it all the time, so I cannot send it back or repair.

A solid lens, especially on the used market.
I purchased the lens used and I feel like I made a great buy. The lens has been updated twice now but I don't feel as though I'm missing out on features. The IS motor can seem a little loud but ambient noice can easily drowned it out. I believe the introduction of the EOS R system is the future but there are amazing EOS EF lenses that will provide years of great images.
