Very nice Looper .. Simple to use
I have had this for over a year now and have never had a problem with it. I would have given it a 5 but I had a hard time trying to get an external foot switch to work with this pedal. The documentation was so poor as it does not use correct electrical verbiage for switches words like "Normally Open" NO or "Normally Closed" NC switch are a foreign concept to Boss. They use DC power words like "Positive Switch" and "Negative Switch" to describe the external pedal operation in the documentation. Boss support was useless they just repeated what ever they could find in the documentation I almost sent the pedal back thinking I had a defective one as it sort of kind of worked with the external pedal I was using. Then it dawned on me to try a pedal that change between NC. or NO once I got the switch operation correct the external pedal worked flawlessly.Achat vérifié : OuiÉtat : Neuf

Indispensable for practice, performance, and writing
The few negative reviews I see for this pedal come from people who obviously didn't read the manual. You can change the order in which it operates (it goes Record -> Overdub -> Playback) by default, but you can switch it to go Record -> Playback -> Overdub using the steps outlined in the manual. You can also make it so that double-tapping the pedal during playback will make it stop playing at the end of the current loop. This is good if you want to take a solo over the chord progression you've just been playing, and then go back to playing the chords live. Once you understand the basics of how it's set up, it becomes *real* easy to work with, but it does take some practice. Sound quality and durability are both phenomenal. I like to keep the level down around 75-80% just so my loops fall into the background during a solo, but for overdubs and layering, you'd probably want to keep that higher. Great little looper!
The RC1 loop station is a great little looper. Easy to use & has lots of good features. Great sounding, no latency and really sturdy too. I use a piano sustain pedal as an external stop/erase pedal & use it at every gig with no issues. I run it in stereo after my mixer then out to my powered speakers so I can loop anything I run through the mixer ie. guitar, vocals, drum machine, basically any sound source. The best ! Every guitarist should have one.
I've had this for a short time now and have wondered how I ever got along without Boss looper. If you want to improve your guitar playing ALLOT, I would suggest buying a quality looper at a good price. Because of the way the system of the RC1 is set up, it is easy to use and you know exactly where you are in the loop. After research and time spent watching different loopers I chose the Boss. Only complaint is that I didn't get this sooner!
Have been nothing but pleased with the Boss RC-1 loop pedal. I currently use it in conjunction with my Digitech RP1000 and it has really allowed me creative freedom while practicing. I bought this since the RP1000 only has a 20 second looping feature, while this one can go as long as I need. I like how you can easily layer riffs on top of one another, delete when you make mistakes, and stop altogether with just the stomp of the pedal. It's amazing. Nothing else to say. Cool awesome amazing worth the money

Fun looper!
This is a pedal I will surely use a lot. It can get stuck in a bad loop sometimes but it's easy to get back out of. Experience will keep me from doing that I'm sure. Over all, a great value and good times from this looper.Achat vérifié : OuiÉtat : Occasion

Takes practice...
Great little pedal, will take practice to get the timing down. Won't work with just any AC adapter (even if volts and mA numbers are good), had to try several in my collection before I found one that worked. TIP: The external foot switch is a must have. If you have a damper pedal from a keyboard, try using that. It should work if the polarity is right, and you've saved $$ that would have gone to a Boss FS-5U.Achat vérifié : OuiÉtat : Occasion

Awesome looper, good value and very portable!
Really great looper! I have the FS-5U which I think it's a great combo to stop the loops on a single tap and erase the loops without hearing that second of loop while the looper realices that I'm trying to erase it. I really like the display on this model too, more helpful to me than the one in the RC-3.
