This Bandai Y-wing Starfighter model was released in connection with the hit movie Star Wars: The Force Awakens. You won't have to paint it, since the 1:72 scale model comes with pre-colored plastic parts. Nevertheless, it can accept paint if you'd prefer to customize the model. Since it offers the classic styling, some fans prefer to repaint it to look like a Y-wing from the original Star Wars films.

    Best Y-Wing kit out there!

    This is hands down the best Y-Wing model ever made. It's accurate to the original filming model used in the films. The detail is excellent, it's crisp, and is sometimes so small you almost need a magnifying glass to see it. There are no fit issues, and the seam lines are small or non-existent. The kit is entirely snap fit, glue is not required. Painting is also not required, the kit comes with pre-colored plastic and a wonderful set of decals that give the model all the color it requires.

    Most Detailed & Challenging Model yet

    I've put together the Tie Fighter and the Tie Advanced and they where pretty easy. I guess I should mention I've put together a couple dozen model kits in my time. It was kind of disappointing that the Empire's star fighter's where rather simple. Once I got into the Rebels things really got tricky. I guess that is just the way the ships are designed if you think about it. The Y-Wing is hands down the MOST difficult to build in the Bandai Star Wars kits. The wings of the Y-wing are very detailed with long sections of small tubes, parts and pipes going into the engine. The X-wing is about an average skill level to build. BTW I'm telling you this so you know what to expect and not to discourage you from giving these models a try. I like a challenge and this model kit was a great kit. No flashing! AT ALL!! Which I love about Bandai kits!!!! The parts also come half painted, which kind of takes away a little bit of the fun, but I don't care. I painted it to my liking anyway LOL. Overall this is a wonderful series of models kits Bandai has put out and I hope they continue to make more. I wish that all of the sets where as tricky to build as this one, but you can't please everyone.

    A dynamite model, rich with detail. Though this is an import the build is extremely easy. The instruction booklet has easy to follow illustrations.

    The build itself has a lot of small parts but it comes together simply. I recommend hobby glasses for an easier time. The build itself is enjoyable and the final build is exquisite. I highly recommend Bandai's Star Wars line and this particular model is a gem.

    Best "mainstream" model of the B wing ever made.

    As this is a model, "durable" does not apply but this is typical of BanDai's work. It is very expensive but the quality is typical of everything BanDai does. The model is exceptionally accurate and well engineered, but maybe over engineered.

    Bandai Star Wars Y-wing.

    I do feel a bit odd saying the kit is durable, it's a model kit, it assembles well and is not prone to falling apart, so it's well made. I would definitely recommend the kit, the detail is amazing, It is a very nice build.

    Bandai - A+++

    Bandai kits are fantastic. Tamiya models were always the kits to judge other manufacturers by. Until now. I think Bandai has a slight edge over Tamiya. The panel lines and detail are wonderful and the fit is second to none. A+++.
