This is a wheel lock cover, will not work without lock
This is a wheel lock cover. Go ahead, read it again. If the lock is gone, it WILL NOT install without modification. The spare tire lock is matched to ignition key. Purchasing a new lock will require lock to be re-keyed ($250ish) or keeping 2 sets of keys(could you find the spare tire lock key when needed?). Thieves can steal tire even if lock is in place, lock slows them down a few minutes. I already spent a week researching this online and with Ford dealer. I decided to press a fender washer into housing and run a 1/4-20 stove bolt with a lock washer through to another fender washer on backside of bumper and a wing nut to get off easy in emergency.Achat vérifié : OuiÉtat : Neuf

Lock Cover Hack
THIS IS THE COVER ONLY, NOT THE COMPLETE ASSEMBLY. I inserted a shaved down plastic bottle cap in the ring portion. Drilled a .380 hole in the center of the plastic bottle cap. Ran a 3/8" X 2" bolt thru the hole and thru the bumper hole and used 3/8" fender washer with nut on the back side. DONE, Mission accomplished. Don't waste your money on getting the whole lock assembly it just isn't worth it.

Does not fit all 2008 F 150 trucks
The unit that I received does not fit the bumper cover that I have on my 2008 Ford. Looks good and seems to be a good product, BUT IT DOES NOT FIT ALL 2008 F150 TRUCKS. Hopefully I can sell it or provide it to someone that has the right cut out RobAchat vérifié : OuiÉtat : Neuf

Didn't work for me
