Product Information

A wry and amusing musical about a world famous candymaker who hides five golden tickets in candy bars for five lucky children. Young, good-natured Charlie (Peter Ostrum) wins one of the tickets hidden amongst thousands of Wonka chocolate bars. What have Charlie and the other four kids won? A tour through Willy Wonka's chocolate factory, led by the loveable, eccentric, but often mean-spirited Wonka (Gene Wilder) himself. The factory itself is like a fantasy world: crazy color schemes, wild inventions, secret rooms, busy oompa-loompas, and lots and lots of delectable sweets. But Wonka has a hidden agenda, and during the tour he tests each child's character and honesty. Based on Roald Dahl's children's book "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory."

    Willy Wonka Is A Delight

    Grandson loved this version! He said, "I grew up with the other version, which I like, but I love this version! It's funnier and not so scary." I rather like that critique from a 9 year old boy! LOL As for me, "I grew up (LOL) with this version and I love it too!" In fact, I bought this Gene Wilder version as a stocking stuffer for my husband this past Christmas. It's delightful!

    My son's new favorite movie!!

    Even after so man decades this movie never gets old. My 6 yr old has watched it over and over since we go it. A great movie for the whole family!

    Chocolate

    This definitely is geared towards children and can be sly at times. I especially found humour in that gag picture of Bormann! Kids will like this movie A to Z, as the focus is on young Charlie Buckett (Peter Ostrum) as he wished madly to find a golden ticket - and he does! It's all fantasy for him from there on in.

    Great fun Memory of Legendary Gene Wilder...

    This movie is an Oldie but a Goodie... Gene Wilder was a brilliant man.... with a mind like no other. A Classic that will go down in history!
