His father, an Irish/English, was a horse doctor officer in the US Cavalry. His mother was full-blooded Native American Indian. After losing both his parents at an early age, he lived alone in a shack using the survival skills his mother had taught him with Indian know-how. This is not a very original idea, probably used hundreds of times before. But I figured it might be fun to work into a short story. So I sat down at the table with an old tablet and a pen.
