No highs, no lows, it must be Bose.
I haven't hooked them up yet. I'm using my B&W Studio Monitors at the moment. I have to repair the rear speak covers stays. Because I listen to music somewhere around 200 watts per channel, the rear covers blow off. No biggie. Been designing and building Professional Sound Systems 30 years in the Entertainment Industry so I am positive that I can improve the design and update it with present technology. I do love the Sound of 901's. I haven't hooked them up yet. I'm using my B&W Studio Monitors at the moment. I have to repair the rear speak covers stays. Bose 901 review
I first heard these speakers in 1987 and was amazed at how they sounded. I finally 30 years later bought a pair of the series VI with eq. I am running these through my vintage yamaha 50 watt/channel receiver and a sound shaper eq, with the bose eq. These speakers are amazing. The highs, the mids, the lows all come to life as if your at the show. Only thing is to make sure that you place them properly. 80% of the sound comes out of the back of the speaker so place at least a foot and a half away from the wall. If you can place them in a corner even better with a foot and half away from all walls. Its as if you have surround sound and boy can these things crank. I'm looking into getting a marantz 2500 receiver that will pump 250 watts/channel and then I'm gonna be in Hi-Fi heaven. ... I first heard these speakers in 1987 and was amazed at how they sounded. Quality as advertised
I have always wanted a pair of Bose 901 speakers. Searched for a few months and found this pair that appeared to be in excellent condition. Exchanged questions and answers with the original owner. I am very pleased with the quality, condition, and sound of the speakers. Great purchase!

Best of The Best
Surely Bose speakers are still on the top 5 list. Particularly these Bose 901 Series VI, even though they were first introduced back in the 60s, their top notched performance and sound quality still are unbeatable. The only minor drawback is that you have to find an old schooler receiver which has the Main Amp In & Preamp Out features in order for the Bose Active Equalizer bringing out the best performance of the 901 capacity. Of course, you can hook them up with any 5.1, 7.2, 9.2 Receivers normally thru front speakers connectors via speaker wiring. But the sound quality is not as best as thru the Active Equalizer. In short, no speakers for the regular home use application can beat these Bose 901 Series VI.Surely Bose speakers are still on the top 5 list.
