I contacted the seller, explained the situation, and they agreed to send a replacement watch. The replacement arrived today, and paired with the app without any bother. It's working fine, and I'm happy with it. I would recommend this seller on the basis of how they responded to the situation.

The price of the charger was reasonable, as in Australia this is an item that is sometimes hard to find.
