        Great reference addition to workshop library

        While I have only had the book for a short time, the initial readings have been very well done and easy to read. Am impressed with the authors knowledge and ability to convey information in an easily understood manner. Am pleased with the purchase and making every effort to continue reading as time permits. Am pleased to to be adding this volume to my library for future reference.

        Authoritative classic for woodworkers.

        This book is the Gold Standard for woodworkers. My first copy came with the sawmill that I bought thirty years ago, and I have read it through several times since.

        Just what I was looking for!

        "Understanding Wood" was exactly what I was looking for at a great price. I recommend it to all who want to know more about wood. That may not be for everyone but if you work with wood, are thinking about making furniture or cabinets, or even a cabin then this will be a very helpful book.

        very informative.

        more technical than I realized but understandable. if you need to learn the ins and outs of wood then this is a very good book. if you are new to wood or a seasoned woodworker then this is a book for you.

        This has been the go-to reference for technical info on wood for decades. This from a materials engineer with a long term hobby working wood.
