Over priced too long a wait period for USA & Canada Region 1 regions. But like the series.
Over priced for 6 shows. But still love the series enough to purchase at best price I could find. But ashame the makers don't make more episodes per season for the price of the DVD's. Just when you get interested and looking forward to more it ends. And it's an iffy situation as to when and if you'll ever see the next years published. So for that I couldn't say it was a good value. It's not. I do shop for best however. Also why do these come out in UK and AU long before Region 1? It is unclear why USA and Canada pays a premium wait game. I recomend the series if you have PBS that carries it. I don't recommend buying it if you do. Very similar to first series which I own complete so I don't watch them too close together as it can bet confusing. I don't care for the pouty way the brother is ... Over priced for 6 shows. Assumed to live up to my memory of this series (my DVD player currently inoperable)
I am responding with memory of when I watched this on TV upon initial presentation of the series. I must get my DVD player fixed before I can enjoy these DVDs from the original broadcasts. This collection was just a fraction of the cost it would have been with purchase from PBS. I am very much looking forward to revisiting this wonderful not-to-be-forgotten series of lovable stories and amazing characters, as depicted from real life experience of James Herriot. I have enjoyed the new TV version released last year, which is wonderful in its own very creative way. I loved the books and want to return to the original enactments of James Herriot's stories. I will also follow the new series presentations, as they have appeared on Public TV over the past 2 Christmas seasons and will likely ... A story to boost your spirits
This brilliant production of the Scottish veterinarian practicing in Yorkshire is heartwarming and will cheer you up anytime. It is funny, smart and there are very few liberty taken from the novel by the same title. I simply cannot watch it without admiring the courage of the author to admit his own missteps which are so entertaining. You will love it too. I’m looking forward to a sequal which I understand is already being filmed. Wonderful show for anyone that loves animals!
Great series! Loved this so much when aired on PBS. Had to have my own DADs if the show! Live the characters and the era it takes place.
