    Shipped and received as promised. Although I have not opened the box as of yet, it’s a gift, it came shrink wrapped in plastic as I would expect for a new item. From the looks of the box, it is as described. Since I am not able to locate another one like it, I would say it is worth the value of what I paid. Thank you!

    Not many options

    If you need to interface with x10 rf remotes, motion sensors and window contact sensors, you do not have many options. 20 years ago there was a decent third party x10 receiver to rs-232 adapter, but it is no longer in production. So now you need to canibalise an x10 CM19A, a fire cracker or a TM751, which are produce using 1970' technology, which explains the "not good quality" review. This CM19A has no USB driver for recent OS, so I probed around and found the pin receiving the binary radio signal (one of the corner pins of the PIC chip). I then used a Raspberry pi PICO to decode the messages. If you intend to use this as is, you need a computer (or virtual machine) running windows XP! The CM19A has a much better receiving range than the other choices when you use a better antenna.

    HA using the CM19A

    Works great with windows and linux using Mochad. Have this integrated into a small home automation system controlling my X10 modules via and HA-Bridge and Domoticz

    Caveat Emptor

    CAUTION!!! This device can KILL your computer. If you plug it in before the driver (software) is in place, Windows goes berserk. It doesn't work well enough to justify the risk. A system restore may trip you up. I know... only too well.
