A godsend piece of machinery
Where has this can opener been all my life? I never thought that I'd actually love a can opener, but this one deserves it! Funny---when I first tried it, I said, "What in the world is wrong with this thing?" It had opened the can so effortlessly and smoothly, that I didn't even realize the can had been opened. It wasn't until I pushed down on the top a little bit that I realized the opener had done its job to perfection. It opens cans in such a way that you can put the top back on and store part of the contents in the fridge. You can place the tops back on because it opens them with smooth, perfect edges. The top is the shape of the top of the opened can, even if the can is bent!Yes, it opens bent cans! Moreover, It opens cans in such a way that juice doesn't spill all over the place and ... Just put the can at a slight angle under the little latch, press down the lever and open the can. Lift up the lever once it stops rotating, or even if it doesn't stop, you can still hear the difference in sound when it's finished! Speaking of that, it is relatively quiet in comparison to some can openers I've had. Anyway, once it's opened, you lift up on the lever and take the can and pull up the top from the side with your fingers and "Presto!" Seriously, get this can opener now! You'll be glad that you did!

I LOVE THIS SMOOTH TOP CAN OPENER. NEVER HAD ONE QUITE LIKE THIS ONE. I HAVE LEARNED OVER THE YEARS TO TAKE THE PAPER OFF THE CAN BEFORE OPENING IT. IT WILL SAVE YOU CAN OPENER AND IT WILL LAST LONGER, I REALLY LIKE THE WAY THE CAN COMES OUT AFTER IT IS OPENED, A REAL SMOOTH TOP, I ALWAYS WAS AFRAID OF CUTTING MYSELF ON THE OLD TYPE CAN OPENER. SHARP EDGES, NOT THIS ONE, SMOOTH AS SILK. IF THIS ONE EVER, EVER GOES OUT , I WOULD BUY ANOTHER ONE JUST LIKE IT. I WENT THRU 5 HAND CAN OPENERS, NEVER AGAIN. I FOUND THE ONE I TRULY NEEDED. Great can opener
Love that it cuts the side of the can instead of the top. Very solid and positive action on the blade and motor...feels good and solid using it. Probably not as cleanable as the model designed to have the blade removed, but that is OK. This is a bargain and a half as it works so well. Really happy I found this one rated so high in my research and I fully agree with those ratings.

The best ever
Due to arthritis, I NEED an electric canopener, and they usually quit working within a year. I don't know how long this one is going to last, but I hope forever. It's easy to get the can in the right spot so the appliance can do its job, and I am very happy with the safety of having no sharp edges to deal with once the can is open.
