The listing was for a hardcover version of this book; however, I received a paperback. The Seller replied quickly to my question about this issue and issued a full refund - and let me keep the book. So, a diligent Seller for sure - and well packaged and reasonable timing on shipping. Thank you for the refund, and as you suggested, I'll likely donate this volume and seek the hardcover.

Great transaction, exactly as described, packed well, and promptly shipped on August 6th. Unfortunately the U.S. Postal Service took 23 calendar days to deliver the book. It was shipped from Pennsylvania, to Atlanta, past Alabama to Texas, enjoyed several days in Texas, then to Minneapolis, Jacksonville, Florida, back to Atlanta, finally to Birmingham, and Huntsville. The seller was very responsive and I decided it was interesting to see if/how the book would arrive. Thanks, Joe

Excellent purchase. Was able to get all three items from the one seller. Seller was able to bundle all three items together into one package. Items as described and arrived in perfect condition. The Academy Got It Right
This film won 8 Academy Awards including Best Picture (Producer, Saul Zaentz), Actor (F. Murray Abraham), Director (Milos Forman), and Adapted Screenplay (Peter Shaffer). Tom Hulce plays the title role; he is perfect. If you haven't seen the movie, get this DVD. If you have seen it, you'll enjoy it even more because this special Director's Cut has 20 more minutes of beauty. The soundtrack is ... well, it's Mozart. Magnificent. The second DVD shares a behind-the-scene documentary and a feature-length audio commentary by the director and screen playwright. Fascinating. Better than not having the DVD at all.
The packaging was fantastic and the movie itself is also beyond fantastic. Although this movie was remastered in 2002, it was remastered in 2002's technology. Had it been remastered and re-released in 2024 the picture would be a lot more vivid and clear and the soundtrack would sound much better. The movie is fantastic and while not 100% true, as all movies that are based on true events are not dead on right, but they got pretty close with this particular version. There could have been more extra features than just one disc with only one extra feature on the menu. If you don't mind a DVD or a Blu-ray that has the remastering of 2002 technology, then you're going to be just fine and you will thoroughly enjoy the movie 100%. Unfortunately for me I'm a bit picky. I have seen the movie in the theater when it came out, but I want to own a copy of it too. A quote from Roger Ebert's review of the film: "'Amadeus' is not about the genius of Mozart but about the envy of his rival Salieri, whose curse was to have the talent of a third-rate composer but the ear of a first-rate music lover, so that he knew how bad he was, and how good Mozart was.... 'Amadeus' (1984) swept the Academy Awards and had a considerable popular success. When you consider that 98 percent of the American public never listens to a classical music station, it is astonishing that Mozart became for a time a best-seller, and not only to women assured by talk-show gurus that his music boosted the IQs of embryos. The movie's success is partly explained, I think, by its strategy of ... I have seen the movie in the theater when it came out, but I want to own a copy of it too. The extra features are worth it. Here we learn that the opera hall in Prague is the actual one that Mozart used. That the candles were supplied with 3 wicks to aid the filming. That secret police infiltrated the cast of extras. That the emperor's dwelling was a bishop's mansion. That the actress originally cast to be Mozart's wife had an injury the day before filming and had to be replaced. and more Get the 2 disc version.The extra features are worth it. Not better or worse than the original, just a slightly modified version that, in my opinion, adds to the appeal of the film!
While most people prefer the original I thoroughly enjoy the director's cut. The original is of course a masterpiece however the director's cut allows for more intimate character depth by allowing more details of personal events that have wide ranging affects throughout the film. A perfect example is Salieri's dilemma when Constanza visits him in order to persuade Salieri to assist with Mozart's bid to a royal appointment. This scene, as well as the few that followed, don't appear in the original version, but clearly express Salieri's sincere conflict at having to battle his natural benevolence and frustration towards God, for his having granted Mozart the talent and success Salieri felt entitled to. F Murray Abraham brilliantly expresses Salieri's internal struggle stemming from deciding ... While most people prefer the original I thoroughly enjoy the director's cut. It is a superbly acted and poignant moment demonstrating the talented cast's ability to draw the viewer more and more into the story.
