    Nice Charger

    I have an older Yaesu VX-5 and finally got tired of plugging it in to charge. I also had a couple of spare batteries and wanted to charge them without having to attach them to the radio. When I saw this charger, for a good price, I knew it was just what I needed. It works great. and solves all these issues. It does have VX-7 printed on the front but works fine with the VX-5.

    It works

    The charger seems to be working fine for my FNB-58s from my VX-5R. My only issue is that I never see a green light. The red light blinks then goes dark which I believe that means it's at full charge. I can live with that but am taking one star for the green light not appearing.

    A working charger but not perfect.

    I used this charger same day I received it and it did the job of recharging two different sized (physically) and amp hour batteries for my VX-5. However, the led does not work as stated or expected. There is only a fraction of the view that is orange and difficult to see at that. The led is mostly always green. In one state, it blinks, in another it is steady on. I no longer recall which state corresponds to charging versus done and it may be that the two led patterns do not actually correspond to charge status.

    Li-ion Battery ?

    Since the first one is defective (not fully charged), I had to send a second. Because in Japan it can not be sent by the lithium ion separately, but not replacing We had two at hand. Also supports I had swift and immediately send it. Kind and very good seller. After I was found in it, but it is written with the Li-ion Battery, the commodity wrote that Ni-MH So are, there is a little anxiety

    Works great with the VX-5R and right sized for travel.

    Works great on the VX-5R; the radio fits tight into the stand / cradle. Also, the charger can also plug directly into the radio. And the chargers is about half the size and weight of the original charger, making easier to travel with.
