“Star Wars: Battlefront 2” for PC is the sequel to a very successful Star Wars game. Developed by Pandemic Studios and released by LucasArts in 2005, “Battlefront 2” puts the player in the shoes of all the major factions of the Star Wars saga as they recreate the popular battles that made the movies famous.“Star Wars: Battlefront 2” allows gamers to experience the excitement of the Star Wars movie franchise in their own homes. Players control foot soldiers in four playable factions that are set in two different time periods. You can play as the clones or the droid armies from the Clone Wars era or go head-to-head with the evil Empire while playing as one of the rebel soldiers from the original Star Wars movies. The game features 18 standard maps for ground combat and nine space maps where you can take part in space battles above critical planets in the series. “Battlefront 2” features several modes of gameplay to suit every gaming enthusiast and provide numerous hours of entertainment for every player. You can take part in the Clone Wars that toppled the Republic while playing as a member of the 501st Legion. You can also choose to take over the galaxy in a strategic combat simulation that requires you to carefully balance your fleet and resources while protecting your assets in hard-fought ground battles.If you want to jump straight into combat instead, Instant Action mode allows you to pick your favorite map and play it immediately without having to conquer previous maps. Another mode of play offered in the game is Hunt, which pits the natives of certain worlds, including Jawas, Wampas, and Gungans, against Storm Troopers and Clone Troopers. Two additional modes of play include surviving endless waves of enemies and traditional capture-the-flag mechanics. Certain settings, such as the Death Star setting, can only be played during the Imperial era.When playing “Battlefront 2,” you can earn awards after you accomplish a set number of feats. For example, conducting a kill streak of 12 several times will allow you to earn a special rifle that is more destructive to your opponent than the standard rifle. You can also earn the status of a hero or villain after completing gameplay goals. When you accrue a certain number of battle points, you become eligible to play as a certain hero or villain depending on your faction and the map you are playing on. Heroes and villains include iconic characters such as Han Solo, Yoda, Darth Vader, and Chewbacca. When playing as a Jedi or Sith, you also have access to lightsabers and devastating Force powers that can quickly change the tide of a battle.From standard infantry soldiers to snipers, engineers, and special operations forces such as Wookies, gamers have the option to play as a variety of classes. Battle a friend while sharing a single PC using the split screen multiplayer option, or connect with other local gamers using a LAN connection. Ground combat can be fought in both the first person and the third person.

    Fun and Frustrating!

    Being able to wield a "light saber" is awesome, especially as Yoda, but the "flying" levels are extremely difficult to control, and the objectives are unclear. To be fair, I'm NOT a Star Wars fanatic and my flying skills are somewhat limited, but some flying games get it right and have excellent user interface, however SWBF 2 isn't one of those. Overall, its a fun and exciting game well worth the investment, whether you're a Star Wars fan, or not.

    Good game

    I’ve played this game in the past and have other copies. Love this game. The copy I bought was scratched and didn’t even work. I love the game- disappointed that it doesn’t work.
