A rope thrown to a drowning woman
I recently joined Alanon and noticed one lady had this little book..."One Day at a Time". She told me she had started Alanon last year and found this book in the local Library. She said it had helped her soo much. Well, I wanted that help, too. So I went on Ebay and found this book. It arrived pretty quickly and I immediately began reading it. It is a Daily devotional but I (like my new friend) started at the beginning and read it all the way through in 2 days. It is just that good... seriously. Enlightening. Understanding. Definitely gives Hope. One way or the other, this book will benefit anyone affected by alcoholism. I was going to highlight key points while reading it, but there were so many gems of wisdom I would have highlighted the entire book. I am now reading one ... I am now reading one page at a time...daily...and slowly, letting it sink in. Sometimes I re-read parts and even softly read out loud to my self. I also purchased "Courage to Change" and read that cover to cover. It, too, is very good....but "One Day at a Time" is hands down the best. I will keep it forever and use it daily. It speaks right to my soul, as a wife of an alcoholic who loves her husband of almost 50 years but can barely stand living with him a good percentage of the time. It is like an extension of an Alanon meeting. A rope thrown to a drowning woman.... I am going to purchase a few more copies so our group members can have their own book. The lady that had checked it out of the library had already renewed it twice and just hated to have to return it. I'm going to get her a book of her own. God bless anyone reading this. You must be on the same road we are on. Find an Alanon group....I promise you will be glad you did. Peace.

Great Book.
This is a great book for anyone who has had a loved one with an alcohol issue. I would highly recommend it.

Great stories of hope
AlAnon is very important program that helps families and loved ones of those addicted by Alcoholism. Being a member to a group in my area, I ordered this to be able to have others read stories of hope. There is much to be said about those who pass on through E-Bay these books so others can find hope. THANK YOU

A wonderful meditation book for anyone who has been affected by another person's alcoholism. The meditations stress working on our own lives and improving them, rather than spending all our time trying to make the alcoholic stop drinking. A terrific manual of self-help and inspiration.

I bought this for my daughter and the first time she read it it impacted her and she could identify with what she was reading. I think it’ll be a tremendous help for her. I have one myself and it’s an amazing book
