I discerned a few scratches and a small amount of degradation of the coatings on the front of the lens that the seller did not detect, but images taken through my digital camera with this lens and several other lenses did not show any difference in quality of images. Overall, I am really satisfied with the lens for the price I paid and it looks like new!
