I tested the headphones on an identical base that I've had forever and they worked well and they looked brand new! When I contacted the seller, I asked if I could exchange just the base. They immediately processed a refund because they didn't have another. No need to return. I thought that was quite generous since the headphones worked perfectly and are currently selling for $15-20.
