Great Naval History
An outstanding read about the Battle of Leyte Gulf, the largest naval battle in history. The battle pitted three Japanese fleets against two American fleets-it should be noted the American fleets had British and Aussie ships in their makeup. This book really paints a picture about the mind set of Japanese Army & Naval forces who felt it was their duty to die, rather than surrender in the face of defeat. That mindset lead to the near total destruction of the Japanese Navy during the battle. What remained of the Japanese fleet limped back to Japan, never to take offensive action again.An outstanding read about the Battle of Leyte Gulf, the largest naval battle in history.
