Not perfect but good enough
My beloved MP970 printer went south and I was not ready to give it up yet. It started printing green bands in black text and only printing 50% of Magenta (See bad original pic attached). I tried cleaning the printhead which did nothing so I saw this replacement and decided to give it a try. It was a gamble not knowing if it was the printhead or the printer (the ink carts were new). The replacement just arrived and I popped it in. I was happy to see that it fixed my original problem but it was not perfect. In the nozzle check pattern, I can see a very faint band in the center of the photo black pattern (See replacement pic attached -- the scan makes it seem faint but it's more visible on paper). I do not print many pictures any more and I am perfectly content to live with it as long as ... My beloved MP970 printer went south and I was not ready to give it up yet. Printhead for Canon MP970
First one I got from jk_parts did'nt draw black ink for pictures at all, nyt second one I bought seems to be OK. This printer has seven inks, so probability to get somehow not working head seems to be greater ...

Printhead for Canon MP970
The printhead is accepted by my canon mp970 so I can use it as a scanner. About 5 nozzels for printing black are congested.

Just satisfied
1st one DOA. They sent 2nd one, only printed in black. Sent both back. Their part # matched my part # This was for my Canon MP960 printer.

At first I was reluctant to try a replacement printhead and was looking at a new printer. I took a chance and ordered it and it came in a reasonable amount of time, from China I believe. The printhead was in the original unopened factory foil cartridge so that was a relief. After installation not only did it work properly, it solved other problems that had been intermittent for some time. I am now back in business printing beautiful photos. I could not be more pleased. At first I was reluctant to try a replacement printhead and was looking at a new printer. I took a chance and ordered it and it came in a reasonable amount of time, from China I believe. The printhead was in the original unopened factory foil cartridge so that was a relief. After installation not only did it work properly, it solved other problems that had been intermittent for some time. I am now back in business printing beautiful photos. I could not be more pleased.
