Product Information

Director Ridley Scott's lush fantasy film stars the young Tom Cruise as Jack, a peasant who lives in an enchanted forest with his beloved Lili (Mia Sara). One day, while quietly gamboling in a glade, the pair is distracted by the appearance of trolls, minions of the evil Lord of Darkness (Tim Curry). The cloven-footed, cavern-dwelling monster, long banished to the earth's nether regions, has sent the creatures on a mission to seize the horn of a unicorn, thereby plunging the planet into a frigid darkness over which he alone will reign. Things go from bad to worse as Lili succumbs to the forces of darkness, and Jack must assemble a motley band of elves to free her from bondage and return sunlight to the earth's surface. Sumptous art direction and overwhelming special effects are once again a testament to Scott's powers of visual invention.

    This seller could not be any better. I ordered a Christmas ornament off of him and he let me know when it shipped so I could be expecting it. I got it out if thr mailbox and the package looked great. I brought it inside and opened it and the ornament was in pieces. I immediately messaged him and told him wjat happened and he quickly responded saying he'd report it and refund my money, which he did. My item may have been damaged but it was not the sellers fault and he made sure to make it right!

    "Tim Curry's best role of his career!"

    This is one of my favorite fantasy movies, EVER! Tim Curry gets top billing from this reviewer, he is absolutley incredible in the role of The Big D!! Love him in Rocky Horror Picture Show but I think this was the role of his career! I also come from an era where just the sound of Billy Barty's voice makes my heart warm and fuzzy and it reaches into my found memories of watching him in my grandparents's living room! Most people I talk to have never heard of this movie and Tom Cruise fans are surprised that they aren't familiar his work in the never ending battle between good and evil. I love the set work and costumes they really enhance your imagination in a day before CGI and it submerges you into their fight, journey, and ultimately their victory.

    I wish the version was in the description, DVD was wonky also

    The only reason I bought this was because it doesn't say that it's the director's cut on the front or anywhere in the description. I was looking for the theatrical version because I grew up on it and greatly prefer it. The DVD itself was also wonky - the director commentary wouldn't turn off. It took about an hour to get it to work properly, only to realize that it was the wrong version. I ended up having to rent the theatrical version thru YouTube and wasted almost $8.00 to own a version of this movie that I don't like.

    do not buy the directors cut, its full of cussing and has no theme song . the song it uses sucks.

    buy the theater verison only . the song in this version is the premise for the film. why scott changed it in his cut , I don't know, but I threw my directors cut in the trash where it belongs. basicly he ruined the directors cut of this film. not recommended for any child under 16
