Synopsis
Welcome to the final, heart-pounding, episode of the Scrapyard Ship series books. It's all about to end in one climatic crescendo. The story continues, with Captain Jason Reynolds, and his team: Billy, Rizzo, and the rhino-warrior, Traveler. They must attempt to rescue Ricket and Gaddy, still held captive aboard the impregnable Dreathlor prison barge. Only then, can Jason return to The Lilly, his highly advanced Caldurian vessel ... where it all began. The elusive Admiral Ot-Mul, leader of the Craing Drac-Vin forces, has not only survived, but thrived, in the far, outer-reaches of space. With hundreds of thousands of warships under his command, Ot-Mul's combined fleets are on the move. But, in truth, he cares about little else than making one man suffer ... Captain Jason Reynolds. With the approach of an enormous fighting force on the horizon, it's the last call to battle. Will the decimated Allied worlds reunite one more time? Will Ot-Mul get his vengeance, by taking those most dear to Jason-Mollie, Boomer, Nan and Dira-and use them to rip Jason's world, his very existence, apart?, Welcome to the final, heart-pounding, episode of the Scrapyard Ship series books. Mark does it again, this time ending the Scrapyard Ship box set series with Book 7, Call to Battle. The gang's all here: Captain Jason Reynolds, Mollie, Nan, Dira, and the Lilly. Nobody does Space action and adventure like MWM. I love all his books: the Star Watch series, Ship Wreck Stranded on an Aline World, Boy Gone Galaxy Man, Gun Ship, Guardian Ship, the Hidden Ship, The USS Hamilton series, and USS Jefferson.- Mary The End? Hope Not / Fun Young Adult Science Fiction What a super tale has been told! I actually just realized I was so caught up in the story on book six that I skipped a review and went right into the final book. No spoilers from me, but what a fun scifi action and adventure story. The ending leaves lots of opportunities for more to come with these characters. Gotta go snoop around Mark's other books and see what's what!- Jet Mech This is very good stuff. If you like fun Sci-fi adventure with just ... This is very good stuff. If you like Sci-fi adventure with just enough little Sci (and silly Sci at that -- or perhaps brief is a better word) but more action-driven. And fast ships and shootouts. This is one of my favorite sci-fi series. These are way less serious than the Expanse (Corey) series which I also like a lot -- just different. These are shorter and less engaged and a faster read -- less literary. Which is good when one wants that, the Expanse series is better literature and likely more enduring. This is comfort food. The Expanse series is brain food.- Eric Eberhard Great read!! Everything was tidied up nicely. Everything was brought to a definite, clean finish. I've read this series with an expectation of discovering something unusual and exciting on every page... I was seldom disappointed. I'd recommend this series to anyone who loves fast-paced action space adventures. The author has created some unusually interesting characters that were both clear of purpose and still individual in their personalities. The author reminds me of Larry Niven in both style and keeping within the confines of the stated capabilities of his dreamed-up tech. Loved the books and am looking forward to the PROMISED spin-offs soon.- Phil A When you think this is the end... For Captain Jason Reynolds, there is no longer a safe place from the Craing. With their armada of two hundred thousand ships, there is no kidding yourself that they will be able to survive and prevent Earth from being annihilated. Ot-Mul, admiral of the Craing fleet is out to get the Lilly and her crew, specifically, Captain Jason Reynolds. He knows that by capturing Jason, the Alliance will fold. What happens to the Lilly and her crew is worth reading. Hope is in the air.- Jimanb, Welcome to the final, heart-pounding, episode of the Scrapyard Ship series books. - v***v (2062)- Évaluation laissée par l'acheteur.Dernier moisAchat vérifiéAlthough this book was not as described, with no picture of it in the listing, the seller communicated well and quickly gave me a full refund while letting me keep it. The minimal packaging left the book a bit vulnerable (typical for ThriftBooks), but it did arrive safely and timely. As usual, it’s hit or miss with this seller, but often times you can get great values, and their customer service is always very good. Many other sellers with millions of transactions don’t even communicate.
- 2***j (113)- Évaluation laissée par l'acheteur.Dernier moisAchat vérifiéI've ordered several items from this vendor now and they've always been what they were advertised as. This was no exception. Both discs were in great shape as well as their jewel cases. Delivery is good, packaging is simple but effective for what you're paying and I haven't had any get damaged. Will keep buying from this vendor because of the results so far and good prices, too.
