When you wish to switch between autofocus and manual focus an easy-to-use switch is conveniently located on the item. This switch allows for very quick changing between the two modes. Its f/4-5.6 maximum aperture lets sufficient light in to reduce motion blur when zoomed in. Nikon's coveted ED-coating reduces the chances of chromatic aberration ruining a perfect shot while also providing superior image sharpness. This 55mm to 200mm lens is a great choice for the weekend excursionist or for capturing your family's finest memories. This is primarily due to its versatility and exceptional quality. This type of lens is designed to be equipped on DSLR cameras by Nikon. They are compatible with all Nikon DX mountings. The aperture settings included with this device can be controlled directly from whichever camera you use. There are an array of settings and features with this 55mm to 200mm lens that help provide you with fantastic images. At 0.74 pounds these AF-S lenses are very lightweight and highly portable. One of the main reasons that it is so light is because it consists of a plastic barrel and plastic mount. It comes equipped with an optical zoom of 3.6x magnification allowing you to hone in on any object you see. This vibration reduction can be essential towards capturing a clear and unblemished photo. If you have a filter that you wish to use this telephoto lens is compatible with a 52mm filter thread. When you wish to equip this device with a filter it can be easily screwed on.     The Black Stallion was a book series I loved as a kid and having a Breyer model is amazing. The Black arrived on time and in packaging that kept him perfectly safe! The Seller really did a wonderful job and I appreciate it. These models have thin legs that could easily be broken in transit. The fact that mine arrived in perfect condition is testimony to the Seller's care. The Black is exactly as shown in the listing and so worth cost which I found appropriate.

    Great little lens for the money

    I bought this light after reading alot of reviews on how well it preformed for the price. I have not been disappointed. This is a very sharp lens for the money. It focuses very fast, it does not however, have a focus ring. For some that may be a deal breaker but i don't find it to be a big deal. The few draw backs to this lens is, it does not focus up close. At 55mm the focus distance is around 3 feet. The aperture is tied in tho the focal range. Meaning that zooming in and out will have an effect on the minimum aperture number you will be able to get. This is common in cheaper lenses but for most hobbyist and amateurs you probably won't find this to be to much of a problem. I would have to say that if you were just getting into portrait photography this would be a good little lens to have ...

    Lens is just what I need.

    Lightweight and has a very good focal length. Fast focusing and in excellent shape. I'm going to use this lens shortly going to Bristol Motor speedway and the Nascar night race there. A zoom lens is the lens you need for a race. Being able to shoot people close and also the cars as they blast by you at over 150 miles an hour. I'll be able to use the lens even more at Dollywood later in the week. Can't wait to see the pics I'll take.

    Lighweight PLASTIC mount, easy to break.

    Excellent optics, quiet focus operation, smooth motion, but NOISY VR mechanics. It does make superb images, but the clatter of the VR and the PLASTIC mount does leave it on a lower scale of lens. For a company like NIKON to resort to CHEAP PLASTIC mounts is simply unforgivable..

    Good Nikkor Lens at Budget Price

    This the second one I have owned. I had a whole bag of lense that include this one and everything else up to 500x. (Sadly, all were stolen on my last vacation.) This was always my "go to" lens. It was the lens I kept mounted all the time. When I began replacing my equipment this was the first addition I made.
