A great product and convenience.
These carousels are wonderful for couch potatoes. This is my second one. I use it as a CD transport for music CDs only since Blu-ray, and I use separate DAC via the coax out. My only complaints are that the remote operation for common is overly complicated for common functions, it lacks a headphone jack, and the display is too small to read from the couch. I have downloaded the manual and learning how to recompose my CD collection. This is third multi-unit that I have purchased. The model has more features that my earlier purchases. I knew that a remote was not part of the purchase. However, it appears that to activate some of the features (shuffle) I will need a remote

Sony should start making these gems again
Great machine, organize your dvd collection in no time puts all your dvds in individual files I bought two of these and looking for number three for blu rays.This machine is very easy to just fill it up and use key board and your all set or write down in a separate sheet of paper.These are getting rare on ebay stine they are not being made any more.I have no cons just plus for these machines

DVP-CX777ES DVD Player plays DVD, CD as expected w/o any issues. Remote Control does not work, replaced batteries, still no go. Other than that no problems.

This is a great player. Cd audio quality is excellent, definitely deserves the ES label. The DVD quality is ok there are many adjustments that can be made to the video and this will accommodate your screen size and also directly affect image quality. It will adjust properly to every size screen. Set it once and your done. I suggest when you load and label your 400 discs, keep the cases in a similar or or make a hand copy, just in case it's needed in the future for an unforeseen reason. Definitely download the online digital owners manual, this comes in handy and you can learn anything needed. I didn't get a remote but the harmony remotes work perfect and you will get total control as needed, just takes a little time to learn everything.This is a great player.
