Product Information

The first of the nine STAR TREK films to feature largely computer-generated special effects and is again directed by Number One, Jonathan Frakes. While on a survey mission, Captain Picard and the crew of the Enterprise stumble on a conspiracy originating high up the Starfleet chain of command that involves a distressing plan of ethnic cleansing. On a remote planet, a small, peaceful race of human-like beings called the Ba'ku seems to be immune to the ravages of aging. Head bad-guy F. Murray Abraham leads another race for which exposure the planet's radiation is the only cure for an advanced state of degeneration, and, using clandestine Starfleet connections, arranges to wipe out the Ba'ku unless the Enterprise has anything to say about it.

    Great balance between a new twist story and action

    This is an outstanding show. There are a couple of specific story-lines as well as considerable person to person interface. It demonstrates greed, joy, love, anger, violence and forgiveness. There is, as one would expect from Star Trek, also a lot of action. This is one of if not the best Star Trek film. There are not ho hum segments, it is well-balanced between carrying out a nice story and action, and it has an ending that is satisfying. Lastly, aside from the normal great Next Generation cast the main characters specific to this movie are outstanding; especially Donna Murphy as Anij.

    S.T. Insurrrc.

    Same characters as the TV series. Nearly what you would expect from the TV show. Still entertaining but, mostly bought to fill in my collection. Didn't seem to bring any new revelations to the show. Good if you are a particular fan of the show.

    If you love the next Generation cast then you'll like this movie. Don't make it the first one in your collection.

    Of the 4 Next Generation "movies" that were made this is probably the least favorite. If you have the other 3 then you need this one for your collection.

    Its Star Trek, can't be anything but great, love it. The movie is engaging and interesting, glad I bought it.

    Great addition to the Star Trek series/movies.

    I'm a big Star Trek TNG fan and this movie did not disappoint.
