Released on May 31st, 1999 by Sony Computer Entertainment, Star Ocean: The Second Story is a third-person action game for PlayStation 1 and it can be played by all ages. The story presents the decision of the Gods of destroying the universe, while the player can take the role of Rena or Claude. The two characters are on the same quest, but, from time to time, they take different paths. However, they develop different skills and learn new abilities that will improve their chances of success.

    Great game in great condition.

    My game came in great condition. It is a 20+ year old game and the jewel case is still in one piece! I have not tried the second disc yet since I have not gotten that far, but it looks like it will work fine. This game is an RPG with multiple characters that can join your party or not based on who you already invited. There are also multiple endings based on your recruitment choices.

    Best Star Ocean game made to date

    Best game in the Star Ocean series. And I like it better than Final Fantasy since the battles are in real time. Vast universe, many different paths to take, characters to add to your party and alternative endings.

    Favorite RPG EVER!

    This game is amazing, it has over 80 different possible endings and the choices you make in the video game decide which ending and which characters you end up having. You choose whether or not to be the boy (Claude) or the girl (Rena) to see their different points of views. Fun things like item creation, different skills and specialties are what make this game unique. Excellent story line and game play. I cannot say enough about this video game. It is definitely up there with FF7 in my opinion. So many extras as well, you can get lost in this game for hours doing the side stories and quests. Where the graphics are now outdated, the fighting style makes up for, it has a unique freestyle battle mode. Do yourself a favor and watch some walkthroughs on youtube or better yet, buy this!!
