Garmin Nuvi 2595LMT GPS
This is my first GPS so not a lot of comparison. It was easy to figure out. I do find it is important to try and know where you are going first using google maps or something as the unit can get confused sometimes. Like it thought I was on the frontage road instead of the hwy so it was telling me to do things that didn't make sense. Over all t has been great and useful but could take you in circles from time to time when the sensor gets confused. This is my first GPS so not a lot of comparison. It was easy to figure out. Garmin 2595
I owned a few Garmins now and all of them had the triffic light camera which I got so use to so if you are looking for one that has that features don't get this Garmin. What I like about this one is the voice comand you just talk the address and it will come up with a section of address and you choose a line. I would like to get the others features like weather and live triffic view but don't want to spend the money and I don't know if it is a one-time price or a monthly fee. The app for Android devices don't really work it is useless I read all of the review and lots of people said it didn't work and I had to find out for myself and they were right about that. And I love Garmin GPS but lately I think that Garmin is slipping their maps are not accurate and up-to-date or maybe they can't ... The nuvi 25xx series are the best of the Garmin portable automobile navigation products. Much better than the newer Drive series which is too complicated. The 2595 is at the top of the 25xx series and offers Horizontal as well as Vertical viewing. Best of all, they are programmed to understand your voice and accept voice commands. The 2595 comes with ALL North America map, including all United States, Canada, Mexico and even some Caribbean Islands, not just regional US maps. The LM in the model number means that you get FREE lifetime updates for the North America map and there is enough memory in the 2595 to accomodate the FULL map updates. The 2595 also has built in Traffic. So you can use a Garmin Traffic charger and get traffic updates on the road. Even offers re-routing if there ... Disappointed
This Garmin sounds good, but it does not do good. Voice recognition for it is difficult. More often than not it comes back with the wrong address, not even close to what you ask for. The other problem is that when you use blue tooth the sound is horrible. The person you are calling through your phone directory can hardly hear you, and you can hardly hear them. You have to turn up the Garmin volume all the way to be barely heard. It also seems to have a problem finding addresses. It told me that I had arrived at a Hampton Inn when in fact the Inn was another ten miles away. This is not the first time it could not find an address. My old Garmin machines out perform this one hands down. Sorry I bought it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!This Garmin sounds good, but it does not do good. Voice recognition for it is difficult. Voice Command is Handy BUT NEED TO DO SOFTWARE UPDATE
Been using an old and reliable Garmin 1350 several years now and wanted to try a voice command model. Bought a used Garmin 2595LM and tried it. At first it did not work well and did not get ANY of my voice commands. I speak clear English and knew something was wrong. I repair computers and figured this unit needed a reset or something was wrong with the programming. I did a reset as instructed by the Garmin website but that did not work. I then did a scan for updates and it found a problem with the software as well as newer maps. After installing and rebooting (it will prompt you) it worked like a charm. Every voice command is correctly done and works faster than the old 1350 I'm used to. I recommend every Garmin you might own to be updated. Happy Now.
