Camera lens was as advertised; it came in a nice airbag bubble wrap,and shipping took a couple hours to hit the post office with 6 days across the country to CT- pleased. I think it's a good value because I only saw 1 other similar lens for sale in the USA. The other ones were all in Japan and I'm all set paying for customs.

Nice camera
I recently bought the eos rebel sl1. It is very easy to use and has a ton of features that are more than I would ever use. It's light and easy to hold. I haven't purchased an additional lens, very happy with the 18-55 it came with. The only thing I do not like about it and anyone buying it should know, you cannot take video looking through the viewfinder. You are forced to use the lcd screen or what Canon calls live view. If I had known that I might not have purchased the camera as I take a lot of pictures in the sun and glare is a problem. But I like the other features of the camera so much I'll forgive it. If you take pictures with a cellphone you won't have a problem. I also like the direct HDMI to HDMI connectivity to my HD TV. Overall, it is a really nice camera. I recently bought the eos rebel sl1. Still a Gem
I know the SL1 is an older model now, but it is still a wonderful camera. I upgraded from the 40D and it has ease of use features that are a noticeable improvement. The nicest thing for me is the small size, since I shoot a lot of photos and lugging it around is very easy. I still have the 40D as a backup, and the lenses are interchangeable!

Inexpensive with great features...incl mic input
Outstanding value, i.e., price point compared to camera capabilities. This model is a few years old, but for learning and even as an old faithful backup camera this is a smart buy.

Holy crap! This works so well!
While this product is starting to be a bit long in the tooth and we can probably expect the next gen camera to come out soon, this is a great next step for the budding photo enthusiast. I chose this camera for its ability to take great photos and do 1080p video. The camera works great in auto and takes generally good photos in this mode for the regular point-n-shooter. It is a bit smaller in my hands than I expected but with a hand strap you don't get tired. This does not have the multipoint autofocus of its bigger cousins but can still get great photos. The kit lens does a good general job but if you were planning on spending time taking pictures of wildlife get a telephoto lens. For the thousand or so pics I have taken, I have only scratched the surface of its capabilities. ... Fantastic Kit!
WONDERFUL camera, especially for a beginner photographer. So many features and easy to use. The kit had incredible add-on's for the camera. Excellent bargain for the money!
