For the price this was extreme value and they were new or at least work and appearance would say so. Finding these batteries made me throw away my others because they held a charge much longer and I no longer need to change the batteries as often. If you have a choice between the Nikon batteries or any other kind I would suggest avoiding any others at all costs.

The batteries themselves say "Made in Indonesia." That's correct. Nikon batteries are made there. However, the "trash can" symbol on one of the batteries has disappeared. There are a few scratches. That doesn't happen with Nikon! I'm going to have these batteries tested at Nikon Servicepoint NL. They can determine if they are indeed original.
