When I receive the bag. The bag was in excellent condition. The only problem I had was the inside there was two boxes but one was broken. I contacted the seller and they made it right!!! This seller was very efficient and messaged back fast. The bag is great quality. And the value of it was priced amazing. The appearance of the bag is in new condition like I wanted. The item was shipped very fast...there was a problem with the package labeling vs the item...one type of blade was labeled vs the actual blade....contacted Spa City Sports and was issued a full refund within 10 minutes of explaining the situation. Solid smooth reel
The reel is very solid feeling and smooth with a slight amount of handle backlash. I did need to shim the spool to get an even line lay, the spool loading was biased toward the top. Loaded with 300yds of 30lb braid. The Daiwa BG series reels are slightly larger than other manufacturers reels of the same size category. I have only used this reel a couple of times in the surf throwing Daiwa SP minnows, Luckycraft 110 minnows, Calissa minnows and 1oz Miki jigs on a 10’7” Okuma Hawaiian Custom Menpachi rod. I have had no problem with the bail tripping on its own as some other reviewers have mentioned. The reel is heavy which helps balance the weight of my 10’7” rod. The reborn new Daiwa BG that stood the test of time on charter boats over 30 yrs. is a must have.Top quality reel as good as the $1000.00 Shimano Stellas.This reel holds more line than any other brand.The size is a bit larger but not much, but you need that with the bigger powerful main gear,They look great feel great,work great hold more line,.... Best reel for the money
This is THE BEST reel you can get for your money. It has been engineered to be tough, reliable and strong. I own several, from the 2500, 4000, 5000, and 6500. I use them for everything from small fish to big ones. I use them in The Gulf of Mexico, offshore and inshore. They stand up to the elements (salt) and are just great reels. They have excellent drag and are smooth as silk. GET yours- you will not regret it.This is THE BEST reel you can get for your money. It has been engineered to be tough, reliable and strong. Good Saltwater Reel for the Money.
Great reel, saltwater specific. Some claim a little heavy compared to competitors but looking online at other specs it seems in line. They run a little big, I wouldn't want to cast it all day. I put this on 10' surf rods that I had BG 4500 on. They were a little big for the rods.

Great reel
This is my 2nd BG reel with the other one being a size larger (4500). The BG lays the braid on the spool perfectly and casts amazingly well. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is the air rotor design allows the wind to whistle though the cut outs. Sounds like someone blowing across the top of a bottle and it can get annoying since I bought this for salt water fishing.
