When Sorry Ma, Forgot to Take Out the Trash came out in '81, The Replacements were booze-pounding hardcore heroes in Minneapolis. By the time Pleased to Meet Me hit the pop charts in '87, they were the power-pop-powered band who'd prove hugely influential on the coming alt-rock boom. In between: 1983's Hootenanny, their 1984 classic Let It Be and their 1985 major-label debut Tim. Early punk cuts like Takin' a Ride; Customer, and Run It join stellar Westerberg songs like I Will Dare; Favorite Thing; Androgynous; Kiss Me on the Bus; Bastards of Young; Left of the Dial; Alex Chilton; I Don't Know; The Ledge, and more!
