Product Information

Brawling brothers Billy and Jimmy Lee return for more hand-to-hand combat in this fourth entry in the popular Double Dragon series. Marian has been abducted yet again by the criminal syndicate known as the Shadow Warriors. End Marian's misery by battling through seven side-scrolling stages set in such areas as a casino, an airport, a forest, and a martial arts training facility. In addition to pummeling enemies with a flurry of kicks and punches, the danger-loving duo can pick up weapons found scattered throughout each stage, from knives and boomerangs to firebombs and oil drums. Each brother can also block, grab enemies, and unleash special techniques after filling a dragon power meter. Super Double Dragon is known as Return of Double Dragon in Japan.

Good Double Dragon but different from the rest
Pros -- I like this port of DD b/c it's different from all the others. It's all about understanding enemy attacks and countering. You can't simply go in swinging. This title stands alone in the DD world. Cons -- It feels unfinished and there's no story. No opening scene with Marian (sp?) taking a hit from thugs. You hit start and you start. No cut scene or story to follow. DD doesn't have a deep backstory but it would have been nice to follow some kind of arc. It's difficult. I don't mind difficulty but as soon as you jump in enemies start the classic beat-em-up surround tactics and pummel you. You have to pick up quick that you need to counter everything which buys you time from being attacked. There's no ample time for recovery so before you know it, you can get waste a life ... This is the real game- not the Battle Toads hybrid. Get it quick!
Get out of here BattleToads and never come back! This is the real Double Dragon game for the Super Nintendo- hence the word Super in the title. This game is super rare and finding a working copy is next to impossible. I couldn't believe seeing it in a resell used games store behind the glass where the rare games are. I didn't have the 30-40 $$ for it so I borrowed the cash from a relative but the very next day the game was gone. If you see this game, grab it and never let go.... like I did about 20 years ago when I sold my first copy to FuncoLand for a handful of dollars. =(Get out of here BattleToads and never come back! One of the most exciting fighting game ever made for the snes. Super double dragon is rare and is worth a lot more money now then before. Also will go up in price in the future for sure

A great title
An excellent title to add to any collectors library, amazing graphics for its time, average controls and hard game game play! Definitely a must own! Especially if you grew up in the era of double dragon!
