The 600 GB Western Digital VelociRaptor D6000BLHX is an internal 10000 RPM hard drive suitable for workstations and low-end servers. The 6 Gbps SATA interface in this Western Digital internal HDD enables you to transfer data between the drive and the host at high speeds. With a 32 MB cache memory, this 10000 RPM hard drive lets you search for stored records within seconds. The Western Digital VelociRaptor D6000BLHX adopts the NoTouch ramp load technology that prevents wear and tear between the recording head and disk media, and ensures drive protection. This Western Digital internal HDD has a 3.5-inch mounting frame, with a built-in heat sink, to keep the device cool. The Rotary Acceleration Feed Forward (RAFF) technology of the Western Digital VelociRaptor D6000BLHX optimizes drive operation and performance.

Not digitally fast, but, oh....so close!
The rage nowadays in the computer world is digital hard drives...those storage units that have no moving parts..originally ushered in as "thumb drives" or "USB Sticks" but now grown into full fledged SATA and PCIe storage drives. Supposedly designed for lightning fast access to stored data, they "promise" high speed computing for the average consumer. The fact is the computer is only as fast as it's integrated parts; CPU, Cache, RAM, FSB, and storage device. Any breakdown in that chain will result in a slow machine - even with digital storage. Enter the WD Velocirapter series of 10,000 rpm disk drives; faster than the 7,200 RPM "standard drives," 200,000 hours mean-time-before-failure operation, quiet, and supportive of older SATA-capable machines as well as the modern i9 and Ryzen-powered ... Regardless of the machine's capabilities, data retrieval is faster; it is almost as good as digital storage and on a par with hybrid disk drives, all at a fraction of the cost. Granted, slightly more expensive than "standard drives," but considering a standard drives' MTBF rate is 100,000 hours (and in some cases 150,000 hours), for the bang-for-the-buck, the WD Velocirapter is more durable and dependable. What more could one ask for????
