Based on the acclaimed post-apocalyptic role-playing series from former publisher Interplay, Fallout 3 features a wide-open world viewed from a choice of first- or third-person perspectives.<br><br>Developed by the team behind the Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and featuring the same graphics engine, Fallout 3 has you embarking on an assortment of quests while exploring, scavenging, and battling for your continued existence. Scrap-metal cities and rusted shantytowns are sources of human contact, but in between them lurk a number of hostile threats. The real-time combat is modeled after shooting games, albeit with the option to pause time for more precise shots using V.A.T.S. (the Vault-Tec Assisted Targeting System). V.A.T.S. lets you pinpoint vulnerability areas with the help of percentage markers displayed on each body part. The higher the percentage, the likelier you are to hit the highlighted area. <br><br>Aiming at a particular body part can cripple it, affecting the enemy's ability to use an arm or leg in combat, while critical hits result in graphic displays of dismemberment. Defeating enemies earns you experience points to enhance your character's stats and acquire abilities called "perks," or specific talents in a chosen area of expertise. Fallout 3 also features some camaraderie in the form of a loyal canine named Dogmeat and a non-player character of your choosing. A licensed soundtrack with songs from the '40s and '50s helps set the mood, offering such hits as "Way Back Home," "Anything Goes," "Butcher Pete," and "I Don't Want to Set the World on Fire."

    Great game

    For the game coming out in 2010 it definitely has it's fall backs. Some glitches and you can't go everywhere or interact with everything, but for the price, you can't beat the quality. The game is overall very good. It's got great game play with tons of little details in the game that makes the game unique. I have a lot of fun playing it and for it being 5 years old, it's not bad. Very fun game and very addicting.

    Awesome and rare FALLOUT promo

    These nfr promo copies of fallout 3 are rare complete games that were mailed to reviewers and other media outlets before the games release in 2008. There are never many copies of these promo discs printed and due to the popularity of the fallout series they are becoming much harder to find so definitely scoop one up if you can... it should come with the case and artwork, a small manual that just has the controller layout on it, and the game disc which is white and will say promo nfr

    A 10/10 Game!

    I mean it's a pretty buggy game, but it's the first 1st person 3d fallout game ever developed, the game is looks magnificent, it's iconic frankly, the music selection stunning, design of locations and enemies stands out. it's a really fun game to play just be sure to save often. starting off as a vault dweller and growing as a character, choosing to be evil or good and dealing with the consequences of said actions. fighting the enclave, defeating the super mutants, dealing with raiders all smashing good fun!

    Good game overall 8/10

    I give this an 8/10 because of it being older gen considering it has really good gameplay and open world it does get hard at times I would suggest u use a mod like a USB and etc because starting out most of the people are higher levels than you ! So I would USB mod this game for sure the graphics are decent for it being old gen and compared to fallout 4 but it is a must must must buy in the series because u will learn what's it all about and spoiler ahead ........................... ..... U will meet older characters in fallout 4 from fallout 3 which I thought it was pretty cool in conclusion this game is a must buy

    Not tested enough/damaged from the start

    Most of the game works, but there are some areas where the graphics fizzle out and you are just stuck failing around, forcing you to remove and reinsert the disc. I presume these are from scratches because it was used, but it eventually just stopped working. The Xbox doesn’t even read it as a disc most of the time. Please do more testing so you don’t sell something defective, thanks.
