Product Information
Ineffectual businessman Andres (Carlos Hipólito) seeks an escape from his unhappy home life that turns deadly, in Spanish director Angel Fernandez Santos's debut feature. Trapped in a loveless marriage, Andres stays with his family for the sake of his son, David (José Velázquez). While in the process of taking over the family business from his stepfather, he encounters beautiful shop girl Isabel (Cayetana Guillen Cuervo), and is immediately drawn to her. He begins an affair with her, and becomes obsessed with his new lover after she is assaulted and her apartment destroyed. Isabel, however, has other loyalties: her boyfriend Paco (Nancho Novo), a vicious drug dealer, is currently in jail, and the pair needs money desperately. Isabel, in classic femme fatale mode, suggests to her susceptible paramour that together they kidnap Andres's own son. A low-budget endeavor, HAZLO POR MI succeeds on every count, with finely-drawn characters and gripping, well-paced action.
