    Very good replacement belt

    The belt is perhaps slightly more stiff than original, and this caused random grip even when ST4000 clutch is released (although stifness seems very similar to original). I used little bit glycerine to grease surface of wheel so belt could slide more easy. Some people uses silicon grease. NOTE: very very little grease if such problem exist! otherwise belt will have no grip at all.

    Fits the mark1 (black face) Autohelm perfectly

    Belt fits perfectly on my mark1 (black face) Autohelm 4000. Tested it on the workbench and it works fine. Once sailing season arrives i will test it out on the boat. How long the new belt will last is anyone's guess, but it looks sturdy. (The belt I removed - was probably 25 odd years old) - still worked fine, but also had a steel liner which the new belt does not. Threads of steel were starting to show through on the old belt so it was time to replace)

    Exactly Right

    The autopilot belt that was sent was exactly what I needed to repair the autopilot on my sailboat. The old belt had shredded and was in pieces, sfuck around the the wheel. After I scraped all the old belt off the wheel, the installation was easy. Good quality!

    So Far So Good

    The item arrived quickly and fit well. I was surprised that it is so light. The original is steel thread-reinforced and this one does not appear to be. Nonetheless it is working well now. It will be interesting to see how long it will continue to hold up, but for now I am fully satisfied.

    More Resilient

    I bought this belt to replace an old belt that was causing "sticking" of the helm. The new belt appears to be better made and more resilient than the old. After installation I found that the new belt did not cause "sticking" of the helm as before. It remains to be seen if the new belt will perform well after a few years of use.
