PS3 Borderlands review

This is a great FPS with a good sense of humor thrown in. I really like the cell shaded style used and the hunderds of thousands of guns available. The weakest element is the storyline, which never really ascends past "you seeks treaurez!" I think before the DLC came out - getting to level 50 and platinuming the game would probably have gotten boring and involved grinding for random enemies. But the three new mission sets add even more gameplay options. Try it and if you like it, the Genreal Knoxx DLC out for the game adds new levels, weapons, and raises the level cap from 50 to 61. The Dr Ned DLC is a great zombie fighter and is a nice homage to L4D. The Moxxi DLC is the weakest as it has little experience, but the challenge of her arenas is great for mulitiplayer.

The adult comic that made the kids cartoon possible.

"Oh, the thing he did before Invader Zim?" Yes. This book is an amazing parody of it's time full of intelligently written stupidity. This book and the companion series Squee follow a serial killer who befriends a small boy before the Pillsbury Dough Boy or legally similar entity and other demons do even worse stuff. If that makes little sense it should. The creator of this comic likes his weird to come at you hard and it is one of the most creative efforts I've ever seen. The random dark humor is exquisite. Can you believe someone at Nickelodeon read this and gave him a kid's cartoon???

Holy undead Batman!

This was the first, and sadly only feature length story for "The Batman" version of the caped Crusader. The story is action packed, and feels like it really has consequences for the characters, not just a "story of the week" that resets to the status quo next week. While it has many of the common beats of a vampire tale, this really feels like a fairly atypical Dracula story. The story really focuses on Batman as a Detective, and shows just how much Gotham is his city. Biggest complaint is that vampire Joker is freaking awesome as a concept, but the shtick runs out fairly quickly. The gift set combines the DVD with figurines for Batman and Dracula that make this a great combination. While not quite as awesome as the figures for the regular toy line that would come with accessories or tons of points of articulation, these still are nice sculpts and make a dynamic piece to add to a shelf in your bat-shrine.
