Best way to protect your investment
Has access to all the major features & controls even when lid closed. Lid has storage for 2 extra SD cards which can allow handy extra storage for pix & MP3 files. A little difficult to open the lid but a good trade-off for ultimate protection of the LCD screen. The one drawback is the bottom hole prevents the large power plug from seating completely but is easily fixed with a half-round file and about 15 minutes to augment the clearance on the case.
This is the best protector of the 3 that I have and I am extremely happy with it!

TVGOS will go to Digital CBS Host with Sony F/W Upgrade
7 personnes sur 7 ont jugé cet avis utile. Sony made a HUGE mistake discontinuing this product--it is always in great demand (especially the HDD500). Contrary to the previous review, Sony has released an update easily installed via the USB port to pick up the TVGOS (TV Guide On-Screen) on most CBS digital host channels across the country (and if you can pick it up from off-air your picture will be better than from cable). I have already upgraded a 250 and a 500, and am purchasing 2 more 500's for the 60 hour HD capacity. Only glitch I have found is an occasional 2-3 second optical audio dropout on my 500--a minor price to pay for not having to pay TIVO AND CABLE--otherwise the picture and sound is FANTASTIC. The Dolby audio output is usually 2.0 or 3.1, but NBC & CBS occasionally have the full 5.1 output. It's also nice that you have separate HD cable and HD OTA tuners both in the same unit. VCR's are almost obsolete. One slightly frustrating drawback is the built-in TVGOS takes a couple days to completely fill in (especially if you select both cable and air on setup--I recommend starting with one or the other then adding the leftover one later once the listings are fairly well populated), but the upgrade seems to help speed up the clock set and listings fill-in some. SONY--pay attention! You've got devotees to this product, and if you can bring your price point down to the $500 range retail, these things would come flying off the shelves! Need to correct the play function in the manual on the TVGOS manual, but I figured it out after about an hour. Not a deal-breaker in my book.

The best of their pre-disco music
Had the tape (8 track!) of this years ago and searched all over to find what was on it. Only a couple tracks that are not my favorites but still the CD overall is great.
