Slow, but great value

Very easy to use with good options for color correction, sharpening. But color correction doesn't always work right giving off color results. But correctible in Photoshop. It's quite slow and one has to do one slide at a time, but the price is right providing good value. I bought this unit as open box to replace an identical unit I already had. I don't think it is a current model.Lire l'avis complet...

If you get one download and buy VueScan software to run it.

The biggest drawback to any Pacific Image scanner is its software. The CyberView software that comes with this scanner is carp. I would recommend that you download and buy VueScan software. Scanning with ViewScan is much easier and the results are much better. Once you buy ViewScan it will work on any scanner that you have.

For what these scanners are going for on the used market they are good buys. The quality of the scans are almost as good as my Nikon Coolscan. Every hear the saying; Garbage in garbage out. That fits perfectly with this scanner. Your negatives and especially your slides have to be properly exposed. The Coolscan does a better job with poorly exposed film but it costs a lot more.

This scanner is light weight and with its USB interface it worked good with my laptop scanning in Grandma’s old family negatives.

Good inexpensive scanner

Pacific does not support this specific model any longer and the included software may not work with newer versions of Windows or Mac OS. VueScan from Hamrick Software works well and is able for purchase.

The scanner is easy to use and replicates colors well from slides. I haven't tried it on negatives yet. As a typical guy, I ignored the instructions; the software interface is intuitive.

As a first scanner, this is easy to use and may be the only one a novice may need.

Can't complaint

An entry level film scan. Good for the money you pay. The digital ICE helps remove the dust or scratches on the films. 3600 dpi is more than enough for usual size print and digital demonstration. Should be better than most of the flat scanner on the market. Has to advance the film manually, it gets really annoying if you have a couple of rolls to scan. I have never done slides. But according to the manual, you can only scan mounted slide, one by one of course.
Over all, can not complaint for the price.

Best Filmstrip Scanner I've Used

I'm using this scanner to digitize materials on microfilm. Machine does a very good job of capturing details. Updated driver is available through the manufacturer's website.

35mm Film Scanner

It was easy to set up and not expensive. When I thought I was changing settings while scanning it kept resetting to the original setup one. Once I figured this out I was fine.
