Employee of the Month Posted by CK-Auctions

Employee of the Month is a movie about Zack (Dane Cook), a good-hearted guy who has given up on taking risks in life because he lost everything in his own startup business some years back. He lives with his grandmother and goes through his daily routine of slacking at work and hanging with friends...until the new cashier arrives. He wants to win over Amy (Jessica Simpson) and to do that he must beat out his archrival Vince (Dax Shepard) for Super Club employee of the month...rumor has it that Amy has a thing of the employee of the month. Since Zack is a lowly box boy who is late to work and does little to impress the boss, he has lots to improve on if he wants to reach his goal. Vince is #1 Cashier, on top of his game, and has been the employee of the month for 17 months straight. Vince is on a mission to set a new Super Club record and hit 18 consecutive months as employee of the month, which will win him a "newish Chevy Malibu." Tired of bring beat by Vince, Zack pulls out all the stops to impress the boss, win some gold stars, and show his good side to Amy in an effort to win her heart. This all leads to the ultimate Check Stand Ring Off.

In order for all this to happen Zack uses the help of his friends to garner enough strength and ideas to beat Vince at his own game. Lon (Andy Dick) can't see past his own hands and constantly tries to be the center of attention. Andy Dick plays this role perfectly and even though not a huge part he does a great job as a comic relief. Russell (Harland Williams) plays a laughable and raunchy man with a quick sense of humor...his one-liners are hysterically ridiculous. Iqbal (Brian George) is the family man of the group with, as he states it, 20 something kids. With the help of Zack's friends they are out to get Vince and his sidekick Jorge (Efren Ramirez). But as Zack starts to show up on time, receive compliments from customers, earn some gold stars, and work his way up into the rank of cashier (earning that all important cashier's lounge card), he starts to disregard the friends that watched his own back before. Ultimately leading us to what Employee of the Month is all about...friendship.

Employee of the Month is a lot of fun. I went in not expecting much...I was hoping for a little comedy but honestly didn't know if I would get anything worthwhile. I was worried because a lot of times when you throw together so many comedians you get just a big mess. I was pleasantly surprised. Yes, there are too many fart jokes, and just stupid humor that seems like it might be some kind of inside joke between all of the comedians. Some jokes like the boss Glen Gary (Tim Badley) and his corporate brother Glen Ross, and a Dumbo gag are nice touches though. The saving grace of the movie is the excellent dynamic between Dane Cook and Dax Shepard; they really make a great comedic pair. They constantly bicker back and forth, ad-lib, and try to outdo one another...and it creates genuine laughs. You could obviously tell that all the comedians had a lot of fun together. Especially when Zack and his friends are in the ultimate employee lounge they created up within the warehouse packages. When you get the four of them in there together, it is extremely funny.

Hilariously Absurd & Worth Every Laugh !!

A great cast and outlandishly hilarious spot-gags., with lightning fast blasts of comedic ruptures., present the foundation of "Employee Of The Month". - How many times have we "ALL" laughed at the idea of the Employee of the Month., and how ridiculously important it is to some people? Well that's exactly what stand-up comedian Dane Cook brings us. A scruffy, low-key charm to this top-shelf comedy that generates over-the-top laughter and soda-spurting through the nose laughing bursts from the Dane Cook "raunch charisma". - This amusing workplace comedy combines satire, broad slapstick humor and a twisted spin of "boy meets girl" to narrative, with Jessica Simpson as the Barbie Doll object of Cook's affections. - This comedy, laced with the usual fart and insult humor, brings "Employee of the Month" to the point Dane Cook wants us. Pushing the crude-humor envelope like Cook's last film, the hit-sensation "gross-out" film "Waiting". - Our new "Office Space" cult-hit takes place almost entirely inside the "Super Club", a Costco-like bulk-discount retailer where slacker box boy Zack Bradley,(Cook), regularly clashes with egotistical head cashier Vince Downey,(Dax Shephard). While Zack spends more time hanging out with his motley co-workers Lon,(Andy Dick), Iqbal (Brian George), and Russell (Harland Williams) than working, Vince has racked up 17 consecutive "Employee of the Month" titles. WOW !!!! LOL - Not that Zack cares. It has simply given him another, and best, reason to taunt Vince and his only pal, Jorge (Efren Ramirez). BUT when he learns that sexy new cashier Amy Renfro,(Jessica Simpson), only dates Super Club "Employees of the Month," Zack decides to wrestle that title away from Vince, who's launched his own charm offensive for Amy's affections. - The battle-lines are drawn in the aisles, as the assault for that "Employee of the Month" Title is underway., and no one is safe, or sacred!! - Thanks mainly to Cook's genial presence and Shepard's inspired performance as the vain, self-important Vince, this film moves us ahead into the laugh-arena unlike any film., designed around the workplace (since "Office Space"). The former Punk'd sidekick enlivens every scene he's in., as surprisingly does Simpson, who's sexy appeal drives the montague. -- Quite frankly., the love-battle has never been so keenly drawn and laughable. This is the NEW "Office Space" cult-hit for the 2000's !! This film is worth the watch and many watches after that !! SEE THIS !! Get off the reality of the world., and our own stressful jobs., and take this crazy laugh-trip. Guaranteed laughs., and we all need them.

Better than I thought

This is one of those movies I expected to just be "okay". It wasn't talked about like some movies released in that time period. To be honest.. I had never heard of it until I went to the movie store.<br>
1st of all I want to say.. Haha.. I love that they mad fun of Jessica Simpson's ears! Funny!

The movie was heartwarming and funny at the same time. I really enjoyed it!

The twist at the end caught me off guard. It made me watch it over and over just to see if I could spot it throughout the movie! Haha!

Final Verdict:

4/5

Rent or Buy?: I would probably buy it.. I could definately watch this more than once!

One of the funniest movies I've seen in a long time

I didn't expect much from this movie, but was pleasantly surprised at how good it actually is. Dane Cook, Dax Shepard, Andy Dick, Efren Ramirez, Brian George, and even Jessica Simpson are all spectacular in this film.

If you have ever worked in the service industry you will enjoy this film immensely.

Final Verdict:

5/5

Rent or Buy?: Like Waiting, this comedy is a must buy for anybody who has ever worked in the service industry.

IF YOU FIND THIS REVIEW HELPFUL PLEASE REMEMBER TO VOTE. Thank you.

Jessica Is Hott!

Jessica Simpson in some of her best preformance in a real movie.Ms. Simpson plays Amy, a pretty dumb blonde cashier at a bulk food store, who dates only the employee of the month, where Zack (Dane Cook) who is a slacker, tries to win Amy's heart by winning the Employee of the month title.
Only one thing standing in his way... The current title holder, Vince(Dax Sheppard) Who has won 17 months in a row.
This outrageous comedy has a lot of predictable slapstick & underdog wins over pretty girl, it's still a good flick.
