Do battle with Bowser from across the galaxy in Mario's first out-of-this-world rescue mission to save Princess Peach in Super Mario Galaxy. Reuniting old friends and old foes throughout the galaxy, Super Mario Galaxy is the first Mario adventure released on Nintendo's Wii console. It introduces players to a whole new world of adventure as Mario embarks on a journey to rescue the kidnapped Princess Peach by harnessing star energy and maximizing the power of stardust while you shake and point your remote through a ton of galaxies.Rated E for Everyone on the Wii, Super Mario Galaxy takes the classic Mario story and turns it upside down by introducing new worlds with new laws of gravity that create jumps, spins, and jabs, moving gamers to take full advantage of the interactive Wii remote and its connected Wii Nunchuck. Enjoy not only playing as our classic hero Mario but also as Bee Mario, Boo Mario, and the fireball-infused Fire Mario for access to even more attacks.Use the Star Pointer by pointing your Nintendo Wii remote at the game screen. A cursor will appear to reveal Star Bits, which you can use as weapons against enemies or as food for your star-shaped friends, the Lumas. With 12 bosses to beat within Super Mario Galaxy, they’ll definitely come in handy.Super Mario Galaxy is a major evolution in the Mario game experience. Each Nintendo game level consists of one or more planets with amazing components, like crazy shapes, varying gravity, and elemental dangers. The game level design is always fresh and creative. At one point, you'll be swimming around a tropical paradise, and the next you'll be skating on a world of ice. The game development team crafted each world to have its own unique personality. In addition, the difficulty level is accessible enough for kids and families. Super Mario Galaxy is a Wii action platformer game that also works on the Wii U. It is possible for a second player to join in the game by using a limited 2-player cooperative mode; the second player will help the first by collecting and shooting star bits. The objective of the game is similar to previous 3D Mario games in that you’ll focus on collecting stars by completing challenges. Once you have collected every star and beaten Bowser, you'll get the chance to play through the game as Luigi, which is a more difficult version of the Nintendo Wii game than when controlling Mario throughout the galaxy. With its orchestral soundtrack and beautiful graphics, Super Mario Galaxy is a true gem on the Wii. The sound team used a special technique where the soundtrack automatically synchronizes itself with the in-game sound effects using the Dolby Pro Logic II sound system, and the stunning visuals demonstrate great creativity. The game is both long-lasting and fun to play. Many people spend hours just exploring and having a good time. The gameplay will be familiar to loyal Mario fans: You roam around the galaxy collecting coins and powerups in exotic locations, fighting enemies, and overcoming platforming challenges. Every element of the galaxy is well-executed and enjoyable with just the right balance of difficulty and accessibility. With over 40 galaxy game stages across six regions of play, this action-packed Mario game is full of family-friendly Nintendo Wii adventure. | |

Good graphics
Compelling gameplay
Good value
The best Game of all time.. Beats Zelda Ocarina of time
Super Mario galaxy is another version of Super Mario 64, but in the Galaxy. IT's a great addition to the variety of Mario games since the very first mario series were released. Now, 11 years later, Nintendo has finally released a full blown sequel to Mario 64, after the disappointing spin-off, Super Mario Sunshine, on the Gamecube. STORY Very simple for any age to understand. Brings back memories of previous mario games. We will keep the story at that. Play the game to find out! GAMEPLAY It is very similar to the Nintendo 64 version, but in a 3D Universe/galaxy feeling. Some mini games are added into the mix. Makes the gameplay more interesting. GAMEPLAY Without a doubt, Galaxy is the best looking game on the Wii. PROS -SUPER Graphics are impressive for the Wii -Easy for all ages CONS - Nauseating levels - Awful storyline FINAL REVIEW 4/5
Extraordinary game play. Excellent disc condition.
This game was my childhood, I am so happy that this disc is fully functional on my Wii Mini. The game itself has a very good story and the assortment of different levels you unlock as you travel through time and space is extraordinary and by far is the best Nintendo game I have ever played. What a time to be a child in!

Arguably the best Mario adventure game of all-time!
Nintendo has always done a great job with their Mario games, but Super Mario Galaxy is probably their most innovative game ever! The graphics still look great all these years later and the game play is interesting as you have to use the Wii motion and both the controller and Nunchuk to navigate Mario. This Planet-hoping game is a must have for the Wii.

Blast Off Mario!!
From the instance I started playing Mario Galaxy, I knew it was a classic! It served as an excellent introduction to the WII and the capabilities of the WII remote. Chalenging and fun for the family too! Mario spends a good part of the game upside down and dealing with gravity. It will never replace the 2d 8bit games for an old school gamer like me, but it is definately a well thought-out progression of the Mario we all know. It's basically Mario World on steroids. The only down for me is I don't personaly enjoy having to beat a level multiple times which is required to get the 100%. Graphics are excellent in my opinion. Planets are interesting and very colorful, true eye candy. The bosses put up a great fight and lots of the other enemies just get in the way. I recommend this game, but I would rather play Super Mario Bros. or Super Mario Bros. 3.
Different from the norm - But definitely addicting!
After reading other reviews, people tend to either completely love this game, or it just can't catch on with them. This is the first Mario game that takes place outside the Mushroom Kingdom and has more of a "real life" aspect to it - having to do with outer space and planets. I decided to just outright buy the game instead of rent, and that was a good choice. The controls are outstanding. They keep it simple and use 95% of the old controls and moves from Super Mario 64 on Nintendo 64 - Which, in my opinion, was one of the best Mario games of all time! It's really easy to control Mario with the Nunchuk in the left hand, and use the remote to point a "star" on the screen and collect certain items on the screen. Two players can "play" at the same time, with the 2nd player using only a star pointer to collect items and freeze enemies, and they also can help Mario reach high places by "clicking" on him at his highest jump point to give him an extra boost. Now your friends don't have to sit and watch you play, they can help you too! The camera angle can't be changed a majority of the time, but Nintendo does a great job of keeping a good angle on you at all times - very rarely is the camera in a bad position. The graphics are some of the best ones I've seen on Wii so far. It's entertaining to see how far Mario has come from the older systems! The component hi-def cables are highly recommended as there is a fairly noticable difference between the two, at least in my opinion. The hi-def cables round off the graphics and allow smoother animations to fully enjoy the graphics of this game. The gameplay is very fun and addictive, as I've never had that repetitive feeling just yet. Each "star" you have to collect (121 in all) is a different mission. Nintendo really comes up with some creative ideas on using the systems functions and remote! Mario goes from planet to planet (instead of stage to stage) and each planet has it's own "theme". It makes me want to keep going in the game just to see what will come up with next! Without giving anything away, I'll stop right there! It's definitely a little different than any other Mario game, but if you give it a chance most likely you won't stop playing! If you liked Super Mario 64, this is a MUST have for you! Very similiar, and some people even believe it to be a sequel!
