Following the franchise's legendary return to success under the direction of Crystal Dynamics, Underworld, the studio's sophomore production with Lara Croft, aims to maintain the high level of solid, free-flowing action that reinvigorated the series, while bringing back more of the spooky exploration and challenging jumping puzzles that helped define the classic Tomb Raider games of the late '90s.
Developers strove to create a smooth-moving, contextually integrated character. Motion-capture technology is used for the first time in the series, with the 3D recordings of a world-class gymnast bringing Lara's jumps, flips, and kicks to life. In all, Lara's movement throughout the game incorporates over 2,000 animations.
It takes a god's weapon to kill a god. Lara is set on a quest to obtain the power of Mjöllnir, the hammer of the invincible Thor. Lara's acrobatics and cunning are pushed to their limits in elaborate, sprawling platform puzzles set among ancient tombs and ruins in the jungles of Mexico, the coast of Thailand, beneath the frigid arctic seas, and in other forbidden places of mystic power around the world.

Tomb Raider Underworld is a great DS game.
I bought Tomb Raider Underworld DS last week. This game is the eighth game of the Tomb Raider series. Crystal Dynamics made changes to the game by making levels seem more natural and making Laura more lifelike this is to say platforming has been opened up a bit. This game has eight hours of gameplay, This game has a very good plot that ties in with Tomb Raider Legends about the mystery of Laura's Mother and the research her Father was conducting. Tomb Raider Underworld has a good replay value because you go back through levels and find missed items. Camera views make getting around tricky a few times throughout some levels, but if it seems like Laura can make the jump to a certain area she more than likely will. Laura is more agile and nimble than ever and the player uses common sense to solve puzzles and navigate levels. This is a superb installment of the Tomb Raider saga a must have for any fan of these games.
Tomb Raider Underworld DS- Only for the devoted collector.
I selected this for my 1st 3DS game based on IGN's score and that it had "Tomb Raider" in title. What I liked most about it was the puzzles, like tetris but had to form the predesigned outline. The game was too simple, very little action, not alot of conflict, and like the ps2, ps3, SPOILER a cinematic scene fights your final foe. It is internally debatable if I were to buy this again. Seems like a condensed version of the ps2 (really bad) port, gets right to the point of the objectives but nothing really driving.
No complaints with the item, the game is in good shape, works well and I've been enjoying it!

Tomb Raider Underworld (Nintendo DS, 2008)
My daughter likes the game, she says it is really fun; but also too easy on the first few levels. The graphics are good, but the sounds in the game need improvement.
