Get ready, puzzle lovers, for this Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) double-trouble game cartridge. Released in December 1994 for the SNES console, the Tetris and Dr. Mario video game is a compilation of two classic 8-bit video games on one 16-bit cartridge. Designed for one or two players, this SNES combination game was made for ease of play and is rated E for Everyone. It offers Super Nintendo players a unique gaming experience. Seasoned Tetris and Dr. Mario fans will enjoy the new, enhanced graphics and sound as they solve the puzzles and take on the familiar fun they already know. This is one of those Super Nintendo video games that provides hours of mental stimulation as it puts your speed and reflexes to the test. The brainchild of famed Russian designer Alexey Pajitnov, Tetris has been fascinating lovers of puzzle-type games for decades. Since its original release in 1984, Tetris has been made available for almost all major gaming consoles and computer operating systems. Tetris has even made appearances on graphing calculators and oscilloscopes, and it remains the archetypal vintage game. In 2007, more than 20 years after its original Nintendo release, Tetris was awarded second place in IGN's "100 Greatest Video Games of All Time." Tetris requires you to line up different tetrads, which are geometric forms that contain four blocks arranged in one of seven different shapes. Each player can then rotate the tetrads by 90 degrees at a time if necessary in order to create a continuous horizontal row. Once a row is completed, the line disappears, rewarding points and extra playtime and causing any blocks above the line to fall. As players clear levels, the tetrads fall faster, making Tetris a challenging game where speed is important for success. If the tetrads ascend higher than the top row of your screen, the game is over.If you loved Tetris for Nintendo and have been waiting for a sequel to this classic arcade game, you can cure your gaming puzzle itch with Dr. Mario. This Tetris spin-off for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) was designed by the developer of Game Boy. In it, you play as the iconic Nintendo character Mario, acting under his capacity as a physician. Originally designed for the 8-bit NES, Dr. Mario has been ported to many other consoles like the Super NES, GBA, GameCube, and even 3DS. By dropping and maneuvering pill capsules in a medicine bottle, Mario attempts to wipe out viruses of different colors. Make Mario align the falling pills with viruses of the same color to complete a row and make them disappear. As you guide Mario to clear all of the viruses in each bottle, you get to advance to more difficult levels. Just like in Tetris, the game ends if the medicine bottle fills up to the top. Whether playing solo or playing competitively, it is always a challenge to reach a new personal best. If you're a Mario fan or a Tetris fan, you’ll want to play these addictive vintage puzzle games from Nintendo. | |

Good graphics
Compelling gameplay
Good value
Two great puzzle games from yesteryear
Dr. Mario and Tetris are best known as NES games, cementing them in pop culture as those games you had to play. But if you missed out on them on their first go on Nintendo’s home console, the SNES ports do them more than enough justice. Although the sound chips and graphics are different, each game is well translated to the new hardware, keeping those familiar songs intact. Best of all, you play Tetris Vs. Dr Mario, making for a weird mashup that is weirdly enjoyable. For about $20, this is a steal. It might be bare bones compared to other SNES titles, but what you get are three fantastic game modes with endless fun to be had.

Heavyweight with good features.
In terms of pros, the cartridge works along with both games being present and it saves space while looking good. As for cons, the presence of both games on one cartridge could make it seem cluttered and complicated while not providing that much of a separation between both components.

Match made in heaven~
This is the perfect combination of puzzle games with a terrific mixed match option, allowing for both Tetris and Dr. Mario in a single, epic, battle royale. Splendid reworking of the original Tetris and Dr . Mario OSTs, with new tracks added for menu screens.

Two Great Games in One!
If you like the classic Tetris game, but don't have an NES (like me), then fear not! Not only is it available for the SNES in this combo cart, but also comes with Dr. Mario as a bonus! What is not to love?

Dr. Mario great but beware the bait and switch!!!
Dr. Mario is my second most played game second to Ring of Red (PS2). To be certain I ordered this second copy and also a complete refurbished SNES from Lukiegames where their picture showed the SNES console (clearly identifiable) plus two controllers in the foreground with the name "nintendo" carefully photoshopped over each controller. This arrived to have aftermarket controllers...you know the terrible ones that do not work well..so I contacted Lukiegames for a refund and they said the photos were for reference only but I cost me $18 to get my $100 back. Beware the bait and switch is the lesson.
